Pre-ordered through GameStop months ago. Got an email yesterday saying my package is on the way, but they didn’t provide a shipment tracking number. It’s torture.

Back in 2017, I was in between jobs. I took nearly 2 months off before I gave my new job a start date. I wanted to travel and do things and just take a semi-sabbatical. And it just so also coincided with BOTW. I’d play many nights from like 10pm to 4am when the kids went to sleep. I spent a couple nights trying to beat that secret island special shrine. I had nothing to go on except my knowledge of each failed attempt. I was so close but couldn’t quite figure it out. That’s my favorite memory of that game.

Zelda, GTA, and RDR are the games that I commit to and invest in completely. Doesn’t help that I’m a completionist when it comes to these games.

What separates this game from every other game in history (including BOTW) is there are no boundaries at all.
It’s the only game I have ever played that when I get to a certain puzzle or situation I ask myself how I would handle this puzzle in real life .
And just about every single time I’m allowed to do whatever it was I came up with in my mind .

You can change it but they only give you one other button option to change it to, and it’s not the one I would want either

I just tricked constructs and monsters (including one I won't spoil but it was weird and surprising) into killing each other at a camp and I just cleaned up loot after. I love how this game lets you do that.

Aren't the buttons fully remappable (is that a word?) in the switch settings? I think an update made that possible. I'm not sure if you can save certain settings for certain games or not or if x would always function as a until you change it back.

I just entered the first shrine, so I don't know if there's some manner of minimum threshold before you can customize the controls in game, but at the moment there doesn't appear to be a way to remap buttons.

I’m embarrassed to say I have had the hardest time navigating this island. I can’t find the fourth shrine to save my life. I have no idea what to do or where to go (besides the map marker). I’m not familiar with these new abilities yet. I know for a fact I’m not creative enough for Ultrahand to be my jam.

It's not in the Zelda in game menu. Go to the switch home screen, settings, controllers and sensors, change button mapping.
I'm using a pro controller but I think you can do it with joycons also. Not sure about 3rd party.
But like I said in the previous post you are remapping the buttons for everything unless there is a way to set profiles or whatever. So you want to jump with B instead of X you remap that button and now B will be X for everything until you change it.

I just had that too. Scared the crap out of me.
Also, I miss having infinite bombs. This game is so much harder without having the ability to blow anything up at any time.
