Can the walls be destroyed? The first troll attack I had, it somehow destroyed my bee hives which at at least 2m away from the wall but his banging on the wall destroyed them. I assume the walls can be destroyed and maybe his weapon was clipping through the walls to hit the hives.

Walls can be destroyed but they are pretty strong. I think the Trolls AOE attack got your hives.

My original base was on the edge of the meadows and black Forrest and I would routinely get attacked. My new super castle in right in the middle of a meadow biome on the coast and I haven't been attacked yet. I also sleep every night though so I think that helps.

Was able to eventually get all my stuff back. frick those deathsquitos though

That's my guess as well.

It seems both walls and ships have user friendly durability. I think the hives were definitely crushed by AOE but that means all of the things built near a wall can be destroyed in a troll attack.

I finally finished my boat ride around my starting island and the damn trader didn't show up by hugging the cost of the outlying islands. I searched another black forest no luck.

Only good news from last night was finding 2 crypts right next to each other. I didn't have time to mess around with them but I will start tonight.

The swamp sucks. a buckler helps a good bit with parry stun.

Yeah walls are more durable than I expected. Trolls smoke everything though. We had one take out a damn copper node last night

Get hoe. Flatten ground. Do not put floors directly onto the ground.

My stuff is basic as hell but once I stopped that I got better.

Oh man, sailing is already stressful enough when you've got a big haul of ore. That ocean update may double down on that.

I got super lucky and found a ruined stone tower on the coast of a swamp with 4 crypts right next to it. I set up a base there and was able to raid the crypts and fill up the hold of the Longboat with iron. The trip back was stressful.

I had one good crypt and one bad crypt. Now that I have some iron to make the stonecutter, I'm not sure if I want to keep hitting the crypts or spend some time building a new Stone Castle. Hard to abandon my home because I spent a LONG time making a path the closest black forest so I could use a cart at any time of day or night. But... I really need a base closer to water because all ore has to go by ship. Life would be easier with a Coastline Castle.

Another base attack almost got me. I swear I think they are timed for when my food is at zero. Saw a skeleton and I was like uh oh. Looked at my HP...25...ouch what was that as an arrows was sticking out of my chest and hp at 10. Hopped back in base and shut the gate, ate my sausages, carrot soup and meat and finally wrecked the draugr base attack. Mace and buckler makes them so much easier.

I was playing yesterday and came across an abandoned village. Looted some chests and when I went back today the buildings were gone and it’s just a plain field. Is this a normal occurrence? I’m less than 10 hrs in.

I was wondering if some buildings appear or disappear. I built a long pathway to my first mining area and I don't recall any building near it and yet last night an old house was next to the road. It is certainly possible it was always there but it popped into my head that I didn't think I had seen that thing before.

Maybe when they add a patch some thing shift a bit?

I don't think I've seen that happen, but I haven't played much today after the update.

Also, sea serpent meat is awesome. The stew you can make from cooked serpent meat lasts ages.

If you’re close to water, just build a moat. No need for walls. Everything gets stuck in it if it’s deep enough. It’s a bit of a chore but it works. Of course that doesn’t help when you go to the mountain biome and the flying dragons come back, and start attacking your base from from above. .

Oh damn, I didn't know that could happen. I might be in trouble.

Ive been reading excessive land leveling can cause some major lag, so for everyone out there building mega bases keep that in mind.

This will go up as the game is closer to being fully completed. $20 is just the price for early access currently. Similar to how Minecraft was originally $10 when it first released.
