Game is rediculously fun. Just got to the Lost Kingdom and it's kicking my arse. Poison everywhere

It only gets more fun the more I play

I'm baffled by the amount of moons on general. 69 in the sand kingdom. I don't know where else to look.

I will say all the comparisons to 64 are premature.

Doesn’t hold a candle to it; however it’s easily better than the galaxy games which is no small feat at all. It has a vibe all it’s own

So many cool things to say about it but they would spoil it

My only critique is that there seems to be no difficulty in this game. Seem to recall being challenged more by 64 and sunshine back in the day.

I am enjoying the experience but I feel like I’m flying through it virtually unopposed. I concede that perhaps I’ve got rose colored glasses regarding 64.

Yeah it’s way too easy which undermines some really inventive boss battles. My biggest critique as well

you don’t. It was not terribly difficult but there was a star on each stage that was tricky and tick tock clock and the rainbow level were flat out challenging for the most part as were the basement levels

Figuring out where the star was was a challenge especially since it was the first 3d console game for most everyone. There were no conventions to inform you as to what to do. For example the part early in the game where you get in a cannon and blast part of the wall.

64 is still the best, maybe even the best game period

I think it's a little light, but I never play Mario games wanting to die 1000 times.

I like that solutions and puzzles make sense, rather than being complex to be complex just to be "difficult." There are some parts that take a bit to get used to (I'm looking at you Lost Kingdom) but once you do, it "clicks." Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't want Super Mario: Dark Souls.

The boss fights are too easy. No way around it. It’s the one and perhaps only flaw. They also should have had more moons to unpack before you complete the story but I think they just thought every world would wear out its welcome

Getting 100% of the blue coins in any kingdom is a challenge for sure. Because in a world so big some of them are well hidden and may take forever to find

I’m 3 short on the sand kingdom and it’s borderline controller smashing at this point

I probably wouldn't disagree with this.

I'm kind of ok with the speed of completion though. I have Doom an Xenoblade coming up

I will say it’s the closest to 64 in that I’ll play this for a long time. Not because it’s so big but it’s just fun to play

Nintendo stock is climbing bigly after their earnings report was released. It’s up $4 on the day so far

I'm having a lot of fun playing, but I know I've missed a few moons and coins on each kingdom so far. Is there anyway to go back to previous kingdoms once you load up the oddessy?

It's never going to compare to 64 or sunshine. 64 in particular was basically the first 3D platformer and everything was just so new. It's a masterpiece when you think of what that game did in gaming history.

Odessy just refined it and continued the forumla, added controlling enemies, and costumes etc. It is better than the Galaxies though which were great.

All in all its a 3D Mario game and a great one. But not GOAT like BOTW.

The main thing to me, it's so damn fun to play. It's really a joy. I just got to new donk city and it's bonkers

I must be in the minority because I prefer Galaxy, but all of the games in the main Mario series are insanely good and polished so I don't think that's a big slight.

I'm with you. I pretty much think Galaxy 2 is a perfect video game. One of the few.

This gets close, but doesn't quite capture it.

This game is easier so far to me than Galaxy or 3d world, which is kind of a knock for me. Still great game though, just a lot of fun to play. I want to watch stranger things as well, so it's been hard trading time with the two
