How? I haven't been able to find an entrance and I've seen them only teleport down (very Trek-ish).

How?

There is one wing that is close to the ground. Run up it and there is a door that kinda looks like a black portal on the hull.

Hhhmmm, the vendor chests have been patched :(

This will make the NG+ runs suck with the extra grind.

as you can tell from the drop off here, its a typical Bethesda game..Once you have essentially beat it, there really isnt much to do except help out the rest of the settlers..

I enjoyed it for what it was, but anyone that argued it was not Fallout Space edition, was wrong

Yeah I was hoping for Skyrim in space, but it just doesn't have the same charm for me. I think the lack of a true open world that you feel like you can exist in is what does it.

Skyrim I can still boot up and enjoy my character walking around the different areas. I'll still probably put 200-300 hours into this game (80 or so hours before even my first NG+) but wont' be the 1000+ I have in Skyrim.

Yea, i think there is a clear theme that you can't have a truly massive world and have the depth and submersion of a smaller world like a skyrim or RDR2.

I personally like the game and feel like there are a ton of areas and things i haven't even attempted to get too, plus im really curious to see the evolution of the game through the years.

I got shite early on for comparing it to NMS and i was wrong..

NMS still walks all over this game..

If you looked at those two games and said one was released 8ish years ago, and one was "modern" i think the answer would surprise you

They are two different genres of games. I don't understand why people compare them just because they are set in space.

on paper, they may be different genres, but if you played both, they're the same concept..

i get that they are truly different, but i expected much much more from Starfield

Coe is dead in mine.

I wonder if it’s a result of the same quest line where the character whose featured quest line is complete becomes the default casualty?

I’d rather Barret stay alive. He has a sense of humor. Billy Ray Coe was miserable to be around.

Sarah died in mine. Now ever other second I get "Hey, Dusty..." Sometimes I move around in a fight just to put Barrett in my line of fire.

Just leave Barrett at some outpost far away.

I was able to leave him at the Lodge after the memorial service. The last few missions (sandboxing) I've been completely without a companion chasing after me. It's kinda nice but I think I may start bringing the Russian-sounding gal with me since she has actual stealth ability.

I keep him assigned to the ship since he has good ship buffs. I saved Sarah so Sam died, which is totally ok because he was annoying and he and his daughter would interrupt talking about books while I was trying to listen to whoever I would be hailing while in space.

Also, I married Sarah, and everytime she tells me she has something for me it's usually lubricant

Bumping because I'm back into this game. I had a lull, wasn't getting the same Bethesda exploration feel for the game, but I hopped back in a few weeks ago and maybe something clicked and I'm all about it now. Finished the game to see the credits. NG+ seems cool but there were a few quest lines I still wanted to explore so I'll hold off on that for a bit.

I remember Fallout 4 didn't click with me originally but I've probably put close to 500 hours into between the PS4 and PC. My soft spot for Bethesda games wins again.
