I’ve had one big so far. Some Spacer ships I’m supposed to fight on a side quest aren’t speaking. Other than that it’s been pretty bug free.

Yes, there are a couple Skyrim references.

It is the first decent exclusive Microsoft has had in awhile…. it’s a 7/10 or 8/10 type of game that getting 2 extra points because they haven’t had anything decent to brag about since halo 3.

What about it looks boring? It just depends on if RPGs are your style or not. If they are, this is a game you would love. If not, you'd say it looks boring.

I unintentionally flew into the system where the Crimson Fleet has their base. I got attacked by about 10 ships upon entry along with some platform lasers. Crazy hard space battle. I just happened to have just come into possession of an incredible ship that was able to survive it (with some slight weapon modifications).

I hope they aren't mad at me for destroying their armada when I ask to sign up.

If you don't like the rpg like fallout or elder scrolls then you likely won't enjoy this

A few questions in case I buy:

Can you play this game on controller?
Is it a smooth game play experience?
Is it intuitive?

I had some of the same thoughts till I noticed 1 streamer wasn’t as dull as the others. Turns out he tweaked his FOV and turned down the green hues with Reshade.

My FOV is at 140 now and appears so much more open instead of boxed in. Doesn’t look like a console game at all for me.

P.S.
Stole another UC ship, this one is the Econofreighter, seats up to 6 companions and has a ton of power and 2k cargo. I was just saving up to buy one for about 120k at the time.

Yes, I have been doing so on my PC. The ship builder aspect can be a little clunky on controller, but not to the point of being an issue.

Has been for me. It is a meaty game for sure. I've got a decent rig, but far from top end. I haven't had any real issues yet having played for probably around 12-15 hours so far. Had one mission where i was leaving a ship and the game crashed on me. When I re-loaded and left the ship, it spawned me just under the ship instead of exiting like normal. Other than that, i've not had any bugs come up so far.

Parts are and some things are not. The map is pretty awful and some things don't get explained well, like how to favorite & hot key weapons, fast traveling, and stuff like that. Getting around places can actually be pretty quick, they just don't explain it too well. You almost never have to actually go into the cockpit of your ship, to fly anywhere you want. You can if you want to, but if you want to save some cutscene time and stuff, there is no need.

Combat has been very solid so far and have had no issues there. Controls are all very easy to use on controller for flying and land combat.

Are you stealing them while on a planet or boarding after a space fight? I'm having trouble getting ships to the point of boarding them. I target lock onto the engines and fire only at them, but the ship always gets destroyed before the engines ever go out.

I'm running a 3060 rtx amd, 5600x and an MSI QD 2560x1440. I've tried different setting but medium at least in new Atlantis looks the best. If anyone has some setting suggestions please let me know.

I used these settings and its been running pretty well. My rig isn't as high end as yours, but I am still getting pretty consistent 60 fps at 1440 for the game (running 75% resolution scale in-game). Most of these recommendations are medium for the important stuff, so I think that is mostly the sweet spot for the game.

Planetary.

Like you, having trouble disabling, especially if somewhat crippled and trying to asses my next move when allied npc's blow them up.

For those of you who are cash strapped, the Crimson Fleet quest line if you side with the UC gives a pretty damn hefty cash reward. Enough to buy a new ship or two at least. Not sure if you get similar if you side with the Crimson Fleet.

Also, if you really want a new ship, jus do the Mantis mission. You get a great new set of armor and a new ship that is already pretty well stocked out. Only upgrade it really needs is to get more energy for the systems.

Also, there is a farm in the Olympus system at the casino. It has a lot of loot inside and a safe that usually will have like 5-6 very expensive contraband items you can sell. It resets every 7 in-game days, so you can go back to your ship and sleep, and do it again.

Yep, it is great. The suit you can take out of the case in the basement of the Lodge without picking the lock has better overall stats and is also a great early game set. Though, it doesn't have the additional benefits of the Mantis suit, it just has great defense stats.

I haven't gotten into the mods much yet. I'm assuming with the legendary armor, you can add mods to get their defense stats higher as you level up?

I'm assuming if you want it to have great stats, you should wait and do it towards more end game type levels?
