Loving this game so far. Only played walker assault, but it feels like an updated version of the original battlefront games. The scattered power up things are odd and you have to just use them to know what they do. The card and hand system is just odd, they should call it a load out and gear like a normal game. And I don't like the party system, it doesn't work correctly. It should automatically put us in the same game if one of us joins it, and it should automatically set us as partners
I'd rather squads over just partners, but the partner system at least makes it more fun. I love the feel of shooting your primary weapon, you feel the weight of the kick and there's noticeable bullet drop. Haven't flown yet, but I've been killed by people kamikazing their Tie fighters . People having a lot of trouble flying safely. I love the game so far because it feels like the games that I originally fell in love with, but with updated graphics and mechanics, plus some tweaks to keep it fresh

I've played 5 games, a few on each team. Never seen Rebs win yet. I think that has a lot to do with the uplink system, it seems to be more complicated for the rebel side, and with new players this less complicated side is more likely to win here

Also the survival mode has a lot of potential. Wish it went up to 4 people though.

I was just in a game where the Rebels won. The game mode is actually fairly simplistic. Rebels must capture then defend the uplinks while the Imperials attack. If the Rebels manage to get both uplinks locked in, focus fire on the Walkers. The walkers can only be damaged with both uplinks locked in, but if you destroy the Walkers you win.
The problem with this is two fold. For one, the Imperials simply have more fire power from Tie Fighters to AT-STs to Walkers. Secondly, the Rebels have to put forth more of a concentrated effort of "Heh, go here and do this thing" than the Imperials who pretty much just have to shoot everyone.
It's not impossible to win, but it requires more teamwork than the other side. It's actually pretty easy to cheese the frick out of it if everyone spams Orbital Strikes when the uplinks are locked in.

Played for a few hours tonight, and I am probably done with it. I can already tell it won't have long term appeal for me.

I feel the same. I think the duration of the beta will be the end of it for me.

Played it a bit this afternoon. It was ok, not thrilled by it. Was expecting to be blown away.

I played a couple matches, not 100% sure yet. I had fun, but yeah the starter gun is just awful.
The graphics, at least on PC, are phenomenal, the game looks great.
Gonna wait until I hit level 5 and get the heavy gun and by then should know if it's a buy or not.

Man, I had an epic match just a few moments ago. Was the rebels and we were in the big field. There was one AT AT left but two AT STs. I was at the uplink with 4 other people. We were surrounded. And then me and another guy both deploy our shields and we hold on just in time for the Y wings to take them out.
As for the rebels winning. I've noticed what's consistent in the wins is that people know when to jump in the turrets and when to leave them alone.
I thought the walker assult was fantastic and I don't see how people can be not excited after that.
I didn't like the drop down on sullust nearly as much but it was ok. The survivor mode was fun and a lot like a game of cat and mouse but I wonder how deep that mode really gets.

Anyone else getting lag after and before a match?

I am having a blast. Walker Assault is a bit unbalanced though. Like the gameplay is fine, but I haven't seen the Rebels win yet.
Base spawns are the worst for Rebels.

I'm actually on the side of getting it now after this beta from being on the fence. I SUCK at most Battlefield games but I think the Star Wars infusion makes it more enjoyable and I was actually doing well. Plus I only played the AT game mode so I know I have the other two to try as well in the beta alone. Just need to get the flying down.
Anyone know if you can change the inverse flying settings in the Beta? First three times in the aircraft I nosed dived fairly quickly. Killed someone two of the three times so wasn't a total loss

I enjoyed the 1 match I played last night. I still don't see myself getting sucked in.

I thought the game was boring. Just not much to it.
Posted on 10/9/15 at 9:09 am to BobRoss
it's pretty. I have no idea what's going on in Walker Assault, so I've been sticking with drop zone. Drop zone is pretty fun if you're not playing with retards.
Not sure about getting this yet

That's how I felt with all of the previous Battlefield games

reinstalling origin to play this.
Haven't run origin since playing BF3 and bitching about the game to you guys..probably 3-4 years ago.

This is the type of game I think where having EA Access will be really nice because I really feel like I need to play some of other game modes not in the Beta to get a real feel on if it is just like some other shooters that have the ability to get super repetitive.
Like I can live with only playing 2 or 3 game modes if the game brings some variety with it. My friends and I rarely ever played anything other than Rush in BF3 & 4 and I had zero issues with that.
I think how many more types of weapons and "cards" are available may be key as well.
I am having a lot of fun playing it, but I am still on the fence because it did get pretty repetitive yesterday. Hopefully once more people learn what to do as the rebels in Walker Assault it will get better.

Holy shite!
I just got my first Hero power up.
I chose Luke then high-tailed it towards the enemy base.
I force jumped over trenches. I was just going to take out their troops. Then all of a sudden, there's fricking DARTH VADER! So in the shadow of an enemy AT-AT I battle Vader. Taking so many stray blaster shots as well. I take down Vader and run to the next soldier but die before I reach him.
AMAZING.
