Surprised nothing is being said. I think it’s almost over.
Most of it was meh to me but there’s lies of p DLC this summer, new Onimusha trailer, and a trailer for a new shinobi that looked pretty cool.
That’s about all I’ve noticed so far

If tweet fails to load, click here. I wonder if people who own it via the PlayStation Plus Collection that was free when the PS5 first released can get the $10 upgrade.

Really wish this rumor had been true

So new game called Saros, which is basically Returnal 2?

I hope this means they are thinking about making a second one

It's still not clear to me whether people who have Days Gone via the PS Plus Collection can upgrade for $10. Sony has been weird about this stuff.
Final Fantasy 7 was a PS+ title in 2021 and people who claimed it then got the free PS5 upgrade. However, people who have Fallout 4 from the PS Plus Collection couldn't get the free next gen upgrade without buying a copy.

Really surprised there was nothing for ghost of yotei

I enjoyed Days Gone but thought it looked good enough as is much like Horizon.
No need to really play it again for the upgrade. But would encourage anyone who hasn’t played it to give it a shot.
Just a fun time.

It's called PlayStation 5 because it's just all remasters of games from 5 years ago.

And still a better lineup than the Xbox.

This generation has absolutely sucked. PS5 has maybe sucked less than xbox but it's still sucked. This isn't a console A vs console B thing, this is a gaming industry wide thing.
Probably a combination of COVID disruption, the completely failed pivot to "live service" focus all over the place, and the fact that game development cycles are have just gotten to the absolute breaking point in terms of length and expense.

If tweet fails to load, click here. The fine print on the last board says PS4 redemptions via PlayStation Plus aren’t eligible for the upgrade. It’s the very last sentence.

Ugh, well that’s annoying. Thanks for the info!

Covid, wokeism, and the goddamn unions.
It's so expensive to make games right now, it's not worth the risk. Expect monkey-man games from china to be about it until we can figure out a way to make games for a reasonable price.

I feel like that's a bit of a misconception. Games aren't expensive to make, but there is too much money in gaming.
I would also say modern Triple A development studios are way too bloated. Poor project management and too much bureaucracy and inefficient processes has led to these insane development cycles.

Tides of annihilation and Saros look interesting. Getting returnal vibes from the Saros trailer.

I think this is a big part of it. The fact that every game is expected to be supported with new content puts a big strain on resources. So teams remain bloated because you have half of the team working on the new game, while the rest are still updating the old one.

The monkey man game from China was better than the majority of crap that got put out last year

Same company that made Returnal
