I was worried about the voice acting before. What they showed in this video for most characters was fine to me, but I wasn't a fan of Hojo... he just sounds like some regular guy, not a half-crazy mad scientist.
Heidegger sounds gruff and warlike, Reeve sounds like an executive, Scarlet sounds like a sadist, and Palmer sounds like an imbecile, but Hojo just sounds like some disinterested guy who smokes a little too much. Need to have that crazy in there to match his character.

I loved this game as a kid, but fckk does that look ghey.

You're better than this.

I bought/(begged my mother for) a PS1 when I was 12 specifically from watching my cousin play FF7. It was probably the first game I was really into. I don't think this new game ever live up to what I built it up to be when I was younger. However, I'm willing to give it a chance and hope that it will be good.

FF7 is the only reason I made the switch from Nintendo to Sony. I've been a PlayStation gamer since Christmas 1998.

Is this going to be an episodic game???
Kitase described the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Episode 1 during a closed door demo at E3, with IGN confirming the physical edition of the game would sprawl over two Blu-ray discs and was comparable in length to other full Final Fantasy game. The first of the episodic releases is set primarily in the dystopian city of Midgar, which represents only the first few hours in the PlayStation original. By significantly expanding on the original's plot, it's possible the episodic releases could continue for years before Final Fantasy VII Remake is truly complete.

I was a Sega fanboy. Of course the Saturn was obviously doomed so I almost asked for an N64 for my 12th birthday because of Goldeneye. But then I played FF7 at a KB Toys kiosk and it just blew me away.
The epic commercial helped too (which is kinda spoilerly watching it again all these years later).

Im super hype for this.
I enjoyed FFXV combat and it looks fairly similar, but also tweaked and possibly better. Materia system is back

Combat looks nothing like FF15's warp and potion spam. Thank God.

Maybe it's my hate for the K-Pop culture.
But it looks like you took a K-Pop group and dumped their likeness into a video game.
Never Yuck someone else's Yum, but I can't do those FF games anymore.

I've watched it twice. I'm very excited for it and I think it looks like a lot of fun. Not going to let general cynicism stop me.

I'm just upset we get a remake of FF7 or the 20th time....
I mean, FFVI has gotten as much remaster/touch up as FFVII has really. The GBA/PS1 versions both added things on a similar scale to what the mobile/PC ports of FF7. This is the first full scale remake of a FF I've ever seen.

This and the Last of Us 2 are my most anticipated games this year. I really don't understand the hate. They tried to give everyone want they wanted. Turn based out action. And did a great job with the characters.

The combat will be fine.
Some people like to have their hands on everything and this game will give them the option.
Me...man I sure liked ff12 and 13's combat. Just set it up the way you want it and let the system do its work. It can still be challenging this way and changes will need to be made vs different enemies. There is nothing wrong with turn based...and I would certainly play it and not complain...but damn the gambit system makes things much quicker and enjoyable imo. Turn based just hasn't aged well with me. I just dont have to time to grind like I used to...and grinding and slow turn based....eww.
