I lost faith in Square to produce quality final fantasy content. The video clip was dripping with nostalgia but I want a demo. If the combat feels too much like ff15, that’s gonna be a no for me, dawg.

I agree.
Shadowbrings and FFXIV as a whole is one of the worst MMO’s to date.
The game was fine in its original state. They didn’t need to fix it like they did.

I have a feeling this game will be lacking soul. I'm also not excited about the episodic release schedule. It will feel like a cock tease. So for those reasons.

Overall I am looking forward to this game. I really did like FF7 a whole lot. Truly I’d probly be more excited for an FF6 remake myself though. I am a bit worried about the combat and the episodic release is poo. But I’m hoping it still all goes well.

Well the trailer did its job for me. My hype had subsided seeing the combat, but with the news that you'll be able to opt into turn-based if you want to and this trailer I'm firmly erect for this remake again.

I'm with you. Not that I don't love the traditional turn based FF fighting system too. But I enjoyed a more active combat experience.

First couple hours was frustrating learning the system. But after you figured out how to sky dance with ultima blade later in the game and cleared some of the key locked dungeons, even combat against behemoth kings and Omega was very fun and fluid.
The main antagonist wasn't very deeply built and the overall main quest line was somewhat lacking substance... but the game made you feel like you were actually interacting in a very beautiful world, and I thought the combat was good. Nothing like Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma, but good in its own way.
