And the library pales in comparison to the SNES. A lot of the "great" games haven't exactly aged well.

Streets of Rage Series
Sonic the Hedgehog Series
Phantasy Star
Contra Hard Corps
Ghouls n Ghosts
Gunstar Heroes
Golden Axe
Comix Zone
Aladdin
Shinobi Series
Shining Force
Road Rash
Rocket Knight
...and much more

Will those work with the classic?

I guess.
May as well buy the Mega SG instead.

Not exactly a Sega exclusive but King’s Bounty was a personal favorite. It was the precursor to Heroes of Might and Magic.

Aladdin probably won't be on there due to licensing issues.

I just hope they don't waste a slot on Flicky. Holy shite that game is lame and it's always crammed into their collections.

If they do they’ll probably replace the genie with Will Smith

No NHL 94 or NBA Jam either.
Hell, probably no EA games at all.

Phantasy Star IV is still one of my favorite RPGs

While we are on the subject of Phantasy Star, PS2 had a great story but the mechanics of the game haven’t aged well.

Stuff like an inability to pick which enemy or enemy stack to attack, the overhead view in the dungeons, and the spells (techniques) being so abbreviated in description that you have to keep a guide handy all make it age badly, similar to 8 bit RPGs like the early Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy games.

For me, the big twist in FF7 of a main party member dying wasn’t nearly as huge a deal as it was to most players because I’d already seen Nei get killed and absorbed into Neifirst almost a decade earlier.

agree, id love to see phantasy star reboot using existing story (maybe a few plot twists) with current gen graphics and tech.

I just want to see PSO 2 release in the US but Sega hates us.

Translation costs are always a bitch with RPGs and a series with a limited US fan base will be a risky proposition.

The best case of this paying off I can think of in the last 20+ years has to be Persona, which didn’t get released as much as escape on the PS1 in the US. Hell, only half of the second game got released due to content reasons.

Persona 4 and 5, by contrast, did huge business.

I just want them to put Skies of Arcadia on PS4/XB1/Steam.

I remember buying the first one at Sears for $10 in 2001. Really surprised the hell out of me with just how good it was. And yes, I got all 108 characters.

I have Suikioden 1-5 and Tactics all on discs. Suikoden 5 is the only one I dont have the original case and manual for.

Now that I have my PS3 back up and running it might be time for a playthrough of all of them (I've only played all the way through 1-3 so far).
