I feel you. Mario Bros will always be the live action movie to me, not those trash arse games.

Not really loving it so far, a little slow for my taste in a RE game. Also these might be the worst feeling gun mechanics I have ever played in a game.

Only a couple hours in but are there no different enemy types?

wow, some of these posts on here you can really tell who played the PSX games and who started with the Gamecube/PS2. Not that I am a huge fan of Resident Evil.

Play 4 , 5, Operation Raccoon City, and 6. They are exactly like the movies

It took me a bit over 8 hours. I got the "good" ending. The final boss was lame but I love the ending (we all know who that REALLY is).
I'd highly recommend playing through it again on Madhouse

That certainly is very different time than what I've read. First I've heard where you beat it under 10 hours.

I visited the resident evil subreddit and even they seem to like the game

and subreddits for games tend to be overwhelmingly negative.

Overall, this game has been reviewed very positively by newcomers and old RE fans.

Well, it's a good thing games aren't a lifetime binding contract

I watched a streamer on Twitch (CarcinogenSDA) beat it in a similar time while playing through the PS4 version with the VR headset.
Hell, some guys already have it down to under 2 hours on their replays.

More length stats

Main Story average right now is 8h 17m from 41 reports across PC and PS4. Quickest 7h 11m.

Main + Extras 11 hours.

The first DLC sounds extremely impressive and content-packed

How much of it is tied to the previous 5 main stodgy games? Any umbrella stuff?

I'm starting to see potential links to the larger narrative but nothing concrete.

I won't disclose anything to keep this thread spoiler free but I'll be interested to see how the plot concludes. I'm getting the impression that I'm nearing the end.

Not sure how they hold up without the benefit of nostalgia but you missed on the majority of the great titles in the series, which is obvious since you hold those shite-tastic movies in higher regard.

Resident Evil 6 is worse than the films. 5 arguably is as well. 1-4 are the high water mark of the game series, IMO.

Finished it in 8 hours, it did seem a little short, liked it overall.

I miss having multiple scenarios to play through like the first 2 games.
