/sigh.. so sad

I would say, it's only dead if nobody buys it this time, and they actually think nobody bought it because it wasn't "edgy" enough.. and try to go even more edgy.. and end up completely alienating every single last person all together.

Oh, and that being said - they are going more towards the CoD and Battlefield crowd.. RE6 will sell more than RE5 did. It's not dead

doubtful. Too big of a name. Now they very well may reboot it or something and go back to its roots. I think that'd be a big hit.

There are more mindless droves who buy games with "big and shiny guns, with a new cover!!!" than those who enjoy a deep video game... at this rate, they will quadruple their sales numbers over the next few installments.

Need to do this.

There is a gigantic market for survival horror right now.

Silent Hill sucks, RE went away from its root, so people drool over Blops/2 Zombies and Dead Island type games.

Last of Us will sell like crazy on the PS3, as would a back to the roots version of RE and Silent Hill both.

Silent Hill was one of my favorite series.

Dead Space "was" amazing, the first 2 games.. The verdict is still out on the 3rd.

One of the smarter decisions I've made this year: cancelling my pre-order on this.

I knew they shite the bed with this series the minute they started harping constantly about accessibility.

you'll never get CoD sales figures with a true survival horror game.

so let's shoehorn in a ton of action and unnecessary multiplayer.

I'm concerned about Dead Space 3. Co-op really kills any sort of suspense.

Game plays differently when you are alone. When Isaac is playing solo he talks to himself and freaks out, but in coop he banters to with the other guy. Want more scares? Play solo.

You mean it isn't like RE5 where dumb as a rock Sheeva follows you around spraying up all your health sprays and siphoning you extra ammo when you run low?

Suppose that's a little easier to swallow then.

Sad to hear this. I had high hopes for this game.

Very concerned for this game. EA reduced the scares in DS2 and the addition of co-op, MP, and skills like hiding behind walls, rolling, etc., make me think that this game will be a huge disappointment.

interesting to see this

I ddint realize this game was getting ratings so low. I only saw the gametrailers review which gave them an 8.8

further solidifying my inference that gametrailers gets $ for their reviews

I just looked at Metacritic, and it has a user rating of 0.6

Yes, that is a 0, followed by a period, followed by a 6.

I know people often troll that site, but that is bad even by troll standards. ME3 didn't even get a rating that bad on Metacritic, and that game resulted in the creation of charity events.

There have been some resident evil games in the past that have been bad, but they have been spin-offs from the main series, the first Outbreak for example.

None of the main series games have been bad so far, we'll see how the series recovers from this, but I have strong doubts.
