MP has never been a thing that I've gravitated to with the Far Cry games. I play a few rounds with it on 3 but that's it.

They've largely gone away form it. 3 was probably the last decent MP thye've had honestly. Instincts was much more focused on the MP side of things. The predator mode was so much fun.

Far Cry 5 is my favorite by a mile. I've got almost 200 hours in to the game with multiple replays.
It's even better when you mod it to slow down the gated required story events, which I do admit are annoying.

Sony just put it on sale for $23.99. Is it not even worth that???

Have you played 3,4, and 5? If not play them instead assuming the price isn't too high.
But if you have played all three of those titles and liked them, go ahead and get FC6 for that price.
I might've been overly critical in my previous post. It's not necessarily a bad game, and you can have fun with it, but it just doesn't hold up to the previous ones when it comes to storytelling and worldbuilding IMO. And also the graphics are incredible and it runs very smoothly.

6 is the only one I’ve played, and it’s pretty fun but super easy. I also agree that the characters are lame. Might try 5 now since people seem to like that one.

4 was just remastered with 60 FPS and is the best in the series IMO.
It depends on what you are looking for. FC5 is a very good game and the missions are a blast, but it doesn’t feel super authentic because your character has no voice lines and a lot of the characters are ridiculous, though not nearly as bad as 6.
I recommend FC4 because the story is well done, the missions are great, and they have well written characters with some fun side characters. Not to mention the Shangri-La portion of the game being incredibly fun and visually impressive. It’s the perfect balance of an authentic story with typical FarCry chaos.
Also the hunting is great in that game.

I'm enjoying 5 from Game Pass so far. Never really got into any of the Far Cry games but it seems like you have to have a lot of patience. I'll probably keep playing it in spurts because I do tend to get bored after awhile.

It can be a lot. Like I said previously, 4 was worse as far as just completely filling the maps with activities to the point where it was overwhelming. 5 is a lot better with that but I'll sometimes look at the map....then my quest journal.....then turn it off because I can't make a decision.
I will say I do really like flying helicopters in that game.

I've gotten better about that bothering me over the years. Now, there are still some things that I can't help but clear, with dark/blank/foggy areas of the map being one (looking at you Far Cry, Death Stranding, HZD, etc). But I'm playing TW3 right now, and all those question marks in Skellige can just go on being question marks

I feel like the Far Cry series has steadily improved over the years, so my ranking would not be much different than the order that they were released. Keep in mind, I've only played all the way through 3, 5, and 6.

I feel like Far Cry 1 shouldn't even be considered in the rankings. Not because it's bad (it's awesome), but because it is so different than the rest. I think I heated my dorm with that game when it came out.
