I disagree with this. I replayed 2018 right before starting Ragnarok and preferred the combat in 2018. The balance feels off in Ragnarok, having to hit low level enemies in mobs a ridiculous number of times to kill them. The lack of runic attacks and how long it takes to get them was a big drop from 2018 also. The 2018 game felt more customizable in terms of build between the armor sets and way greater runic options.
Also agree with everything Carson said in terms of the story. It was a very good game despite these issues, just fell short of 2018 and certainly not the best game of the year much less ever made.

I am loving it! Not a boring moment. Hell even my mom asked me what movie I was watching for a while lol. The gameplay and story is a masterpiece. I love the development of Kratos. Don't get me wrong I loved the younger Kratos full of rage and wrecking hell in Greece but he is an older and wiser warrior now but still has that burning rage with the ability to frick anybody up. I will admit I'm a sucker for a villain type character being redeemed tho.

Nope. I found some parts of it better than the first game but some lacking. I completed 100% of the first game but I was ready for it to be over in the second. The much longer story wore me down and I had ZERO interest in completing the Berserkers. Usually I like longer games but I was definitely happy when it was over.
