Death March and level scaling turned on. I’m level 36 and the mission is for 32. I had to leave in frustration and do the other expansion’s missions. Killed the first two monsters in that main quest line no problem. I think my fast attack/alchemy build met its match.

Yeah I’ve been playing on story mode more so because I wanted to explore way more and do as many side quests along the way as possible.

You're missing out on a lot. The side missions are worth doing just for the world building and extended lore.

I’m OCD with finishing everything to 100%. I ain’t doing it on this run lol. That card game at the beginning I skipped out and said nope. Some hoe wanted something done and I said naw bitch.

Yeah Death March is a bitch. I turned off about 50hrs in.. waited for a challenge with NG+ release.

I finally beat that bitch. Did the mission to unlock the new mutations, fast traveled to a few places of power, and still died like 10 times.

I would definitely play 2 first and then play 3. Skip 1. I tried and couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. It's pretty bad lol

I never played any of them before I played 3. Start with 3. There were a few times I'd google something that was referenced, or read up on a little backstory, but overall it isn't needed to play the other games.
1 and 2 are both okay, story is good. The games are just very frustrating to say the least. Clunky mechanics, and I mean clunky.
As someone else has said, play 3 first. It is hands down the best of the bunch. If you then feel inclined to play the others, go for it.

I just play on Sword and Story. I hate dying 15 times in a row in a game like this.

That is what I did on my first play through. You get God mode by the end of it, but that is pretty fun to do. Plus, let's you concentrate more on exploring the world and the story, without having to just replay stuff over and over again and forgetting what is going on.

If you're just at the end of Velen, about to go to Novigrad, then really you've just finished the tutorial. That part was pretty slow for me too. Really opens up from there.
