The new console refresh cycle is about every 3 years now.
That's a straight stupid business plan. It completely ignores how Sega fricked themselves by going from Genesis to Sega CD to 32X to Saturn to Dreamcast in a 10 year span.

They are using that quote as proof of them predicting the ps4 pro
That reminds me of when Micheal Pachter said from nearly the moment it was released that Wii sales would die unless an HD model was released and then claimed that the WiiU was proof Nintendo listened to him.

I feel like Rumor: should be added to the title. This has been largely debunked but would hate to see people actually think that PS5 is releasing this year.

Technology also advances a LOT faster now than back then, it's not like the current cycle hasn't been successful.
PS4 drops, 2.5 years later a refresh with added horsepower largely dictated by the advancement of 4K technology drops and is also successful.
PS5 drops another 3-4 years later with full native 4K gaming and once again top tier specs.
PS5 Pro refresh another 3-4 years later for who knows, 8K gaming?
Point is, all just depends where the tech goes and how quickly. They want to stay out in front/on time instead of being years and years behind like they always used to be.
It's hard to look at an OG PS4/Xbone at this point, 720p gaming with 6+ year old tech inside while 1080p was already beyond mainstream. Now we are seeing 4K adoption rates at 40%+ and climbing rapidly so you get a refresh of both consoles geared solely at 4K. We would have never seen that in the past.

Well advancement is relative to the desired output.
Also all the fab space is scheduled out nearly to the end of 2018. We have talked about this for months.

So Sony wants to increase the frequency it spends huge amounts of capital required to bring a new product into a market where the PS is not losing product share even after the competition's refresh?
Interesting.

And? This does not translate to protential sales PS5 sales. The engines aren't ready for a true upgrade. This early it will be nothing more than locking output to 2160 @ 60fps.

Within a couple of years? Obviously.

Then why you posted this stupid fckking article?
Seems like you are changing your narrative midstream.

Which no console can do? Or PC for that matter. Again, it's about getting out in front instead of being years behind as in the past.
It's really not that hard to understand, stick to PC's maybe my dude.

But not legit places.
I saw it on a few forums but man one look at the specs and timeframe screams BS. It only takes a little knowledge on the state of the market to call this clickbait.
Posted on 4/13/18 at 3:36 pm to LSU Coyote
Yes, it stirred up a lot even at legit places which in return had major sites backchecking and getting opinions of other "insiders".
It has brought about the most discussion on the PS5 to date.

I tell you this monthly.
You really need to educate yourself. Not only do you lack technical and even working knowledge of these processes, but seem to not understand the market.
Really no disrespect. You wouldn't get into arguments with everyone on a forum if you understood the facts and properly applied them in discussions.

And? It is clickbait.
Most ppl do not understand the development required for the tech, state of the fabs and the other component issues with flash.

Don't get upset, PC is your thing, I'm just saying stick to that. No disrespect, you clearly don't know much about consoles.
Well this isn't true. See the previous console releases where it was nothing but arguments and I was dead on accurate about almost everything.

What a dumb statement.

That was a fanboy war. How is this relative?
Everyone was dead on for the PS4 release. You are seeing confirmation where only ignorance was present. It was a fanboy war. We all knew the specs of both consoles prior to release. The two sides experienced blindness with bias.

Watch out for the UH down votes!

Why do you waste so much energy downvoting on a forum? It's weird.

To trigger you because you always bring it up.
