It happens. Being single, sure it's easy enough to go grab fast food, but cooking was just something I had to do at least a couple of times a week, for wallet and food quality reasons.

All of my friends are 23-27 and mostly college grads, rarely if ever cook.

Cooking is something that declines each year with youth, less and less cook for themselves. I don't know why you're surprised.

Hell I remember an article a few years ago that 30% of Americans can't cook which is hilarious. I mean I can cook, and have, just choose not to because I don't like to, I find it boring and a waste of my time.

Which is shockingly rare esp with the amount of shite people post on social media related to their food.

My BIL is about to turn 30. He goes to the gym and plays soccer, but eats and drinks just whatever he wants. His metabolism is insane and I flat out hate him for it. Super fit. My wife is waiting it it all to come crashing down on him. That's what happened to me. I never watched what I ate and was as skinny as a post, until that metabolism dropped. I never really adjusted my diet and wow, it's caught up to me.

The only thing I ever see on social media in regards to food from both friends and famous people is pictures of food at/from restaurants.

Maybe when I'm in my 30's I'll get a desire to cook and stop eating fast food and going out to restaurants.

My family is somewhat hefty in the middle, so there is genetics I'm fighting, so it's so much friggin work to get back to where I want to be. I'm good for a while and then I just can't keep up. Then I rationalize. Then I'm fine for a while. Then I hang out with said BIL. Then I hate life.

Sounds like me but he's bit older and I'm just in shape not super fit. Run daily and play tennis and hockey regularly.

I'll start worrying about it when mine finally drops at some point. My whole family is tall and thin though. But for now it's whatever whenever and I love it and take full advantage!

Yeah, while it's working, have at it. We're a short family too (I'm just under 5'11"), so it all collects

Just because you're tall and thin doesn't mean you're healthy.

Good thing I said I'm very active between running daily and playing sports almost daily. And not a non workout sport like golf either, I play tennis and adult league ice hockey. Moreso tennis with my club membership, as hockey is an in-season fall/winter thing.

Sitting at a desk most of the day is not kind to my body

Some days the only times I get up is to go to lunch or to the candy bowl

Im 29 and still have a crazy fast metabolism. But since completely overhauling my diet. My results in the gym are so much better and feel healthier and have more energy.

That's great, but your diet sucks from what you've told us. It'll catch up to you.

But more power to you.
