Volv, I'm curious what kind of ship type do you run?

Depends on what I am doing.

I do a lot of mining, but if I am doing combat I am either in a blackbird (pvp) or a drake/rokh (pve)

I'm intrigued by EVE might try the 14 day trial.

If you like, I can give you a referral which would add a week to that trial.

I usually roll a Raven for my all-purpose class. Working my way up to capital class.

Yeah, I usually stick to high-sec but I roll out with some buddies for missions.

One day about a year and a half ago I just got tired of Empire and finally joined a player corporation, which was then situated in a wormhole.

Jesus was that a sharp learning curve.

Yeah wormhole space is a doozy. Nothing like constant uncertainty.

I created a character Apollo Ender. I'm a Gallente from Activist ancestry who studied anthropology at the university. I quit right after I created him, as I have stuff to take care of right now. How good is the tutorial, the interface is quite daunting. Is there a good place to go to get the basics down of what I am supposed to be doing?

What you are probably going to want to do is use the career agents. There is one for each specialization, so you probably want to do all of their missions as they give you free ships/skills/money for doing the missions.

I been playing Eve for a few hours. It's fun, but it has to have the worst interface ever.

I can't help you much there....they COMPLETELY redid the player start since the last time I made a character.

Hell, my Jita neut alt was made long before then (a neutral character that does nothing but sit in Jita 4-4 shopping, which I then arrange to be shipped to where I am at in deep space)

I agree entirely with the message conveyed here:

There are a lot of little quirks.

But you get a hang of it.

If enough people get on this, especially if any of them go down a serious miner path (Go with God...), I may pack up and move down to Empire. Found a TD corporation. Etc.

At the very least miners would be incredibly thankful for the Orca support.

So I just finished all the military missions. I didn't have many problems, I wrecked an Aton once and had to buy another one. But I trained some skills and bought better shields and repair bots and defeated Wolf. On one hand the leisurely pace was good because I could watch tv and play, but it didn't feel like I was accomplishing much since the pacing was so slow. I felt detached, I would just click an enemy ship, get in optimal range and then wait till I killed the ship. This was repeated ad nausea, I imagine there will be more strategy later on. I think I my try the business missions next.

Ok I'm doing a mining mission. I'm supposed to use some blue prints and build a booster or something. I can't because my industry isn't high enough. there is a industry tab and under that tab is only mining. So how do I train for industry? Also can I friend some of you in game so I can get a few pointers here and there?
