With the new generation has there been any significant benefits to I7 vs I5?
Posted on 6/14/14 at 12:30 pm to Mr Gardoki
We only got a refresh.
Won't see new chips until rumored late Q4 2014 but believe it will be the same with a June 2015 release of Broadwell.
EDT:
Oh sorry you directed this at my question. For CFx 290Xs I want the extra Cache and some logical cores to handle processes outside of gaming. Don't want those 4 physical cores with 6MB of L3 to handy cap my new toy.

I'm the same way. Even when I'm gaming, I don't shut down my other shite like you technically should. That's where the 16GB and extra threads come in handy -- laziness, mostly.
EDIT:
My fricking expenses keep piling up. $3,000 hospital bill for my son's birth. ER visit for my daughter the other day, son's imminent surgery that will probably be a few thousand after deductible and 80/20, and today I got freon added to my AC. I have a leak now apparently, and don't even want to consider the cost of fixing that shite.
Stout (I'm asking you because for some reason I feel like you'll know the answer): Can the average joe consumer buy R22? Feel like the HVAC guy gave me a good pounding. Said my freon was at 60%. $89 for diagnostic plus another $300-ish for the recharge. Just said frick it and paid him because it's June and I got a kid with asthma, so no real time to get second opinions (outdoor line was freezing up near daily). He wanted to fix other shite too that was in imminent danger, of course, but money's tight.

Insurance doesn't cover birth?

You can if you know someone but a bottle will probably run you $300 and you also need at least a $150 set of gauges to fill it.

Oh it does. Typical HMO coverage is 80% after deductible unless you have some super-premium plan. You ought to check your/your wife's coverage before the baby is born. For my wife's insurance, all of the prenatal visits are 100% covered. Then the hospital birth is 80% covered after her $600 deductible is met. Hospital births are not cheap, though. 2-3 night stay plus all of the visits from the OB and pediatrician are billed. The biggest charges are from the OB's role in delivery, use of the labor room and nurses, staying the recovery room, and any anesthesia/pain management. Then they nickel and dime you with IV therapy, general pharmacy shite, periodic tests on the mother and baby, etc. It was about $14k billed to insurance.
Particularly higher this time because it had to be a C-Section, which adds an extra night in the recovery room and a bigger charge for the OB's services, since it's basically surgery. The bill for my daughter's birth was about $1800-$2000 (our portion).

ORIGIN SUCKS SO MUCH arse
Trying to buy a couple Sims 3 expansions for the lady friend and it won't accept my payment. I've tried paypal AND my card to no avail. I've used BOTH to buy stuff before.
ETA: I understand my nvidia bias really has no basis in reality...but I like them

On our list of things to do. I'm waiting in my wife to contact her work about benefit details basically. You know teachers don't do shite over the summer?

Not to be political but health insurance deductibles have changed dramatically since the onset of Obamacare. If you can afford to pay then in their eyes then boy do you pay. My prescriptions are costing me over $600 out of pocket a month. They used to cost less than $100 a month. This new health care system sucks donkey balls.

You are obviously a productive member of society. Therefore you have to subsidize the health insurance policies of non productive members of society. Obama says it must be so and thus it is.
