Holy hell...going through my junk mail and some credit agency offered me a $10K line of credit. Cool and all until you see that they charge 76% interest and want 66 bi-weekly payments of $340. You would pay back $22,240.
Are people that stupid? Maybe I need to be in the loan business.

Short answer: yes, people are that stupid.
One girl I know didn't know what the term "investing" meant. No joke.

From what I've read those are the going rates for professional athletes that want to throw themselves a $300k birthday party but don't have the cash for it.

I'd probably be down for that. I'm going to have to download it again though. :/

You ever seen a commercial for western sky? Not sure if they are still around, but they were offering loans up to $10k, with some horrible terms. The fine print on the screen during those commercials says "The APR for a typical loan of $10,000 is 89.68%, with 84 monthly payments of $743.99."
They advertise their loans as a way to get short-term lenders off your back (payday advances). Interesting lifestyle.

What's a good software program out there that can clean up a PC and make it faster? Looking for software for Windows 7 for a co-worker of mine. He mentioned those advertisements on the TV like Clean My PC. I laughed at him and told him congrats on the viruses.

CCleaner
AVG+Malwarebytes

If he's trying to clean up and improve an older PC, AVG will be a bad choice. It used to be ok years ago, and now it's just too bloated/intrusive to do any good. CCleaner is an effective one. I run Microsoft Security Essentials since it's not intrusive. I probably don't need any AV program, but old habits die hard.

ey guys need a little advice from you. Looking to get a new laptop and looking for suggestions. I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6626us from around 2006-2007 and it sucks a big one. I dont need the laptop to be anything fancy(gaming, graphics). It wont be used for gaming and will only be used for school stuff like papers, powerpoint projects, internet, etc. Basically every day things.
I would like to get it new because of the warranty. I dont want a mac.
Is newegg still a good site to buy from? Amazon?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Yep, Western Sky is owned by an Indian tribe, and tribes don't have to follow the same federally regulated lending characteristics of a standard conventional lender. They could charge whatever they wanted. Some of their loans were well over 100% interest rate as well.

For basic shite like that, any laptop will do. Not many of us keep up with the latest and greatest office notebook technology. To answer your question, newegg and amazon are fine places to buy laptops. You'll get what you pay for.
