xbone? you already have a ps4 you don't play... perhaps you should just go all console with this attitude...
The PS4 doesn't get turned on because the game library sucks. I mean really stinks; your WiiU library is almost better. I always wanted the XBONE for the channel surfing features, which I probably wont use, but itll be cool for football season. My living room entertainment isn't made up with gaming, its ruled by my Roku 3 for streaming.
So I want a device which is good at delivering. It isn't great or perfect yet, but its getting there. (I hope)

The 'next gen' library is brutal right now and won't be good until late 14 if not 15 imo. Wii u actually has a decent selection right now with some good ones coming the first half of 14. I'm declaring 2014 the year of backlog.

Do Want (I think)
Don't get an APU for your main gaming rig. Especially if you are going to stream with it. You will be asking one part of the PC to not only process the GFX for you but to also do the compression needed to stream.

I think we've configured a build for him twice now. I don't really know what else to say.

Really?
I guess it's intimidating to some to take the step and an all in one package like this would help overcome that but those packages are always lacking in something compared to ordering your own parts.

Just link him to some old Gateway and send him packing. That guy is not Master Race material.

He could do like some and just add a GPU to a Dell or HP. Those people are somewhere between Master Race and Peasents. Jesters maybe?

I also offered to walk him through the entire build process via skype.

I am just looking at all of my options. Is there something wrong with that?

Your options only change if your budget changes.

I keep getting this "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are availible, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570."
I'm trying to put windows 7 pro on my new PC. I'm doing it from myknown working USB boot drive. Anybody have any ideas?

Well that rig was normal $700+ but on sale for $540-ish. So I thought maybe it was a decent thing that I could pursue instead of the roughly $650 i'm looking at with the suggested parts given to me

I'm currently in mid-build of a cheaper build that has more power

Wow.
As a consumer you should never judge product value from delta of Retail vs Sale.

Honestly getting tired of helping some. Their budget and needs change daily. Some of them never purchase anything but keep asking for build help. After a while you stop taking them serious.

It's hard to purchase anything when you are providing for a family of 4 with 1 paycheck. I'm sorry not all of us are rolling in money
ETA: which is also why my budget has changed so much. I am trying to project into the future what I am able to purchase while keeping my family 1st and my wants 2nd.

Family 1st? Why?
Seriously though, put your family first

That is totally understandable. These damn gaming rigs and other expenses should be last if you have others to care for.
I'm just talking in a generalization. A lot of ppl come here asking for builds. The community here is full of great knowledgeable, helpful and kind members. It can get frustrating when you repeatedly spend 15-20mins putting a build together with the best deals on the components to fit someone's needs; then that poster will ask for help multiple times within the month.

I built when we had extra cash. My wife switched jobs and took a pay cut so we have had to cut back and I even thought about selling. Today my wife interviewed and got a new job so all is good again

Scary.
You can't move because there is a sniper on your position; "IRL". Funny the guys can make light of the situation.
