I had to delay my PC build a few days due to memory compatibility issues (
), but I'm finishing it up tonight. I'm about to plug in data cables for my ODD, HDD, and SDD and I've run into an issue. There are six connectors that are Intel Z87 Serial ATA 6Gb/s and there are two ASMedia Serial ATA 6Gb/s connectors. I was going to plug the ODD, HDD, and SDD into three of the six Intel Z87 connectors, but I wanted to make sure that I was making the correct decision. So, am I?

Yep, SSD in first intel SATA port, HDD second, optical drive wherever.
What do you mean memory compatibility issues??????

Thanks for the response.
Apparently, the ram I had chosen couldn't take up all four slots on this motherboard.

Are there any games that dx11 doesn't suck with? I have been playing arkham city and getting these random frame drops from about 60 to 25. I google it and turns out its a dx11 issue and if you just disable it then it gets better. I don't think I have played a game where dx11 wasn't just a nuisance.

Bull. Have you tried? Where did you read this? The vendor list for the motherboard? Should be taken with a grain of salt these days.
I'm going to assume you tried to insert all four sticks and it did not boot.
So here's what you do. Install only one or two of them in proper slot for a single channel configuration (the manual should tell you which slots to use first).
Boot to bios. Enable your XMP profile for those rated sticks. Reboot, shut it off. Put in the other two sticks, then boot again. I've had ASUS boards give me that kind of trouble before.
If you need me to walk you through this, let me know. I'm awake if you're still on. Skype and Steam are both StephenP85
Or did you already return that memory?

Unfortunately, I switched out the ram.
The motherboard manual said that it only supported two slots of that particular ram and I took its word for it.
Regardless of whether or not it could've been fixed, I ended up with ram that had the exact same specs.
In other news...

Ooh, you got some dominators. You could easily overclock them too. Raise the voltage a tad and may even get to keep your stock timings with a higher frequency.
I hope to see a custom loop in that case soon. When you're ready to look into that, I'm a walking encyclopedia on the subject.
Man, seeing that Haswell system makes me want to drive to houston and delid it. Be sure to post temps running prime95 blend.
ETA: Oh, and make sure you go into your bios and set your XMP so that RAM is running at its rated specs.

Yeah, I was about to do that.

When the time comes, should I be downloading that from here: LINK?

Yeah, and you don't have to join or create a userID to run it. Just download the program and run the stress testing. First test I'd do is "Blend" for however long you want (if just looking at temps, 20-30 minutes is good enough to see max temperatures).

Alright, I'll make sure to do that (fairly soon).
Thank you for all the assistance you have provided; this process would have been a mess without it.
ETA: I'm also pleased to report that this 1440p Korean monitor doesn't have any light bleeding issues (well, none that will irritate me, at least).

Between you helping everyone with their problems and coyote giving away hundreds of dollars (maybe thousands)worth of stuff the race for the TDGB Civitan of the year is going to be a close one.

Man, I fricking suck at BF3

Well, I guess I won't be getting sleep today (something other, unrelated, things came up in the middle of this process).
Also...
While attempting to install the latest chipset drivers for my motherboard (which I downloaded on another computer and put on a flash drive), I received a "Setup.exe - Bad Image" error message. However, after hitting OK for every file and waiting a few minutes, the installer popped up and, seemingly, proceeded to work just fine. Should I be okay, or should I be worried?

Cable management, son.
Congrats on the build.

Are you trying to use the cd that came with the board? Get the drivers online.

I got them online on another computer and then brought them over via flash drive.

Ok, if you start getting random unexplainable quirks in windows, a redownload of the chipset drivers would be the first step. File might've gotten corrupted.
So did you not sleep last night?
I at least got a couple hours before my wife called me from a gas station. Some big arse bolt tore her tire up. Wish these construction companies could be held liable, but alas. That tire had a good couple of years left on it.

That's always a nice way to start the day.

I redownloaded the chipset drivers and the issue persists.
