I had a meeting at 6:30 this morning. I walk outside ready to leave and see a flat on my GD truck. Took the jeep instead. Thank god it was morning time because if it was the middle of the day I would have sweated clean through my clothes. A 78 CJ with one of those all in one dash A/C's isn't exactly a daily driver.

I am putting of going to put my spare on for as long as I can because I am being lazy.

I at least got a couple hours before my wife called me from a gas station. Some big arse bolt tore her tire up. Wish these construction companies could be held liable, but alas. That tire had a good couple of years left on it

How late was she out?

if anyone is looking to build a high end AMD machine, newegg has some pretty decent prices in their latest promo email.
FX8350: $179
Asus M5A99X R2 board: $109
XFX 7970: $298
XFX 550w PSU: $29 or Corsair 750w modular:$49

round that out with the other basics and you have one hell of a machine for $900

...and for those that might want to go with intel cpu check out this motherboard from Gigabyte.

This board is $189.99 on Newegg.

I agree. Might be a pricing mistake, however, as it is from Amazon, it will be easy enough to cancel the order. Amazon is also good at honoring their pricing mistakes.

No such luck for me. My wife woke me up at 6:45 crying. She's overly frantic about anything car related. Her tire pressure light came on, and she pulled over to a gas station to air it up, only to discover that the sidewall had a huge hole. Cue the frantic crying phone calls because she was going to be late for her first day back with students (she's a teacher). Since she grew up without a father, nobody ever showed her how to change a tire (except for me, several years ago, but of course all that knowledge went out the window).

So I show up, we swap cars, I put on the donut using the shittiest jack in the world, and I drive home to sleep another couple of hours.

So now, once I get some work done for my actual job, I have to go find somewhere to get a new tire. I mean, my car knowledge is limited, but I assume this tire is just plain fricked:

Yea it's fricked. You can patch a nail but not that.

Yeah it's done. You don't want to patch something that big. In the sidewall too? It's trashed.

So then my next question is about replacing it, and whether I can get away with replacing only one instead of two. The tires have about 30-35k miles on them and have been rotated at the dealer on their recommended schedule.
