Ordered everything for the new build, should all be here Thursday...except for the 7800X3D. Had to get my sister to snag me the bundle at Microcenter in Houston. After selling the mobo and ram, I'm looking at $260 all in for the CPU. Just need her to ship to me

So I'm looking for a 1440p 60hz monitor but they cost just as much as 120 or 144. But how does gaming at 60hz look on 120/144?

Like 60hz
You can change your display settings to limit to 60hz if you wanted… you could also change game settings to frame limit the game at 60fps.

Like Gent said, it's identical, at least as long as you have Gsync/Freesync active, which you should. Gets a bit more complicated, otherwise.

I think I'm just gonna get a 4k 60hz monitor since it's only $30 more at Microcenter. Keeps things simple for me.

Someone was telling me that it would look worse than if the monitor was 60hz native. I found a decent 1440p 144hz 27" monitor for a decent price and it does have FreeSync. I don't really game much online so using vsync has never really bothered me.

They're incorrect. Running a lower resolution (1080p on a 4k monitor) might potentially look worse, but that's a separate issue. Resolution is resolution as long as it's variable. If it's fixed, like I said, it gets more complicated.

Yeah, I remember years ago dropping down to 720p for certain games on my 1080p monitor and it looked like shite.

New version of the Arctic Liquid Freezer AIO has dropped and been reviewed. Not perfect, but looks like still the value king. And to my personal preference: they got rid of the "Alien chest burster" tube orientation, so I might actually be willing to buy it now

I have a confession. I have been trying to get a 4080 super from best buy with no luck. Its frustrating as I'm thinking of putting it in a new build. I don't need a new build but I need to build one, lol.

Well, frick. I'm a sucker for low noise and this not be it. Even tho, the offset bracket is included. I'm not happy with my noctua dh15, so this or the 2 will be its replacement.

Of course this drops after I buy the II. When will the III be available? May just return it.
ETA: nevermind, I see its available now. Just ordered. Looks so much better than that ugly arse II. It just wasnt showing up on amazon search for whatever reason

You posted it at the perfect time. I was staring at the LF2 last night and pondering how ugly it is. Best to get it swapped out before everything is assembled

It really is horrible… since EK killed their beautiful Basic line, I genuinely didn’t know what I would go with for my next build. This is now high in the running.
