Tech Jesus got called out by one of LTT's employees in some sort of speaking engagement event thing regarding data and benchmarks.
Tech Jesus didn't respond, but then Linus went on his WAN show and basically called him out.
Then Tech Jesus went scorched earth

Tech Jesus brought the damn receipts, talk about owning someone

LTTs fanboys are basically all over Steve right now.
Steve has a company that has 3 or 4 employees. He risked a whole lot to do what he did.

I think it’s 6 or 7, but yeah, very small. With that said, there’s nearly zero overlap between his supporters and Linus’. They might brigade a few videos, but I imagine patreon subs and store purchases are going to go up. Steve comes off as feeling very secure in his place in the industry these days.

Any recs on a great wireless headset? I've tried SteelSeries Arctis 1, Sony Pulse and Logitech G733 but each of them has been somewhat disappointing.

MSI leaks Intel 14th Gen Core specs, confirms it’s 3% faster on average than 13th Gen
Welcome back to the real Intel.

It’s just a refresh of 13th gen. It’s not a major architecture change and still can be used in the 1170 socket. As long as the prices stay consistent I don’t really see an issue.

No gains of any kind and you don't see an issue?
You know AMD's refreshes still see nice gains right? And what does same socket matter if it's same performance and a dead socket?
That company is still so bad. No one is going to buy a dead socket cpu with no gains, no one.

I genuinely don’t understand why AMD seems so intent to follow Nvidia in losing the fricking plot…
AMD announces Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB and RX 7700 XT 12GB graphics cards
AMD’s internal testing puts the 7800XT 3.5% above the 4070 for $100 less, which is great in theory. The problem is that you can buy a 6800XT right now for the exact same $499 list price as the 7800XT. And the 6800XT is, drumroll please… about 3% faster than the 4070.
So the 7800XT offers the same performance and moderately better power efficiency for the same price as the 6800XT… here’s to hoping next gen from both companies is more interesting than this one, though that’s a very low bar to get over

That's why I grabbed the 4070 for $450, nothing was coming close to that price+perf until next Gen at best.

If they’re priced the same as current 13th gen… why would anyone care? It’s actually potentially really nice if it leads to decent price cuts for 13th gen CPU’s.

Again, who is going to buy a dead socket with no performance gains? Current gen or last gen.
Just hasn't worked that way for Intel since about 2nd gen Ryzen. Would argue it is significantly worse now than then as well. Any discount will just be met with AMD discounts at more performance and a 3+ year alive socket.
But I'm sure AMD is ecstatic. Big dub for them again.

FSR3 looking really good!

In terms of fluidity and clarity, FSR 3 looked a match for DLSS 3 - a view shared by Alex, Rich and John, who were all present to see the demos in person. A great start for FSR 3.

I hate ebay, got a steal on the Samsung 4K MiniLED monitor for $500 no one else bid.
Refunds this morning claiming ups dropped the monitor breaking it while packaging it. Highly unlikely. Sold for several hundred below its value so cancelled it 100%.
Bastard. His 100% positive feedback rating is now 85.6%.

Definitely annoying. Tank their feedback about all you can do.

I'm always a little skeptical when people are shown a small slice that they aren't allowed to interact with, but I genuinely hope AMD has a breakthrough with FSR3.

Just saw this post on the tech board... and I have questions
quote:
Yeah. Supply chain is going to be your biggest hurdle. Any GPUs you can find available will be crazy expensive. Just from a price standpoint, a pre-built system will be the way to go for a decent build.
But you can test your patience and piece together a system and then add a better GPU when the market corrects. Check out CG Director for some good articles and recommendations.
Here are a few things I learned as I was building mine.
- the GPU is not used as much as you think but it does help and some softwares don’t use it as all. You can get by with a “value” GPU but if you ever get serious, you will need to re-evaluate.
- the best processors are the Intel i9 and the AMD Threadrippers. If those are out of your budget, go with an AMD Ryzen 9.
- get as much RAM as you can afford
- storage should be at least a local SSD but NVMe is preferred
- if you are pulling your footage from a NAS, your render times and editing performance will be terrible. Your render times will be hours. Not minutes. Always pull the footage to your local drive and use your NAS as a backup.
- it is also recommended to have 2 local drives, a combo of NVMe and SSD. Store and edit and NVMe and render to SSD. Or at least store on one and render to a different.
- I’m sure there are some decent editor programs for Linux. I’d recommend Davinci Resolve because it is cross-platform so if you do decide to switch, there isn’t a learning curve and it gives you a really powerful editing engine.

Ok, I did the exact same thing you did
I was thisclose to typing out a response a few days ago that would have been... less than flattering? Then I noticed that the last post was a brand new poster doing a crazy thread necro. The post you c/p is from coming up on two years ago
