7600x is also intriguing. For $100 less and 2 fewer cores it seems like you're not losing too much. The price to performance ratio looks a little better.
What GPU are you pairing it with?

I got it brand new sealed off ebay for $280.
4070.

Wow, that's a killer price.
I never thought I'd see the day you weren't rocking an AMD GPU.

5800x and a 3080fe. But my rig’s a few years old at this point. Was planning to upgrade gpu this gen, but price to performance is fricking lame, so I’m skipping this gen and waiting until next.

5800x3d and 3080FE
I’m maxed out for a few years unless a screaming GPU deal shows up next gen

You’re biting next gen; you won’t be able to help yourself

If the price per frame value is similar to what we got with this gen, maybe not haha
Hopefully the market will correct itself for the better

The issue with this gen is that price to performance stayed the same (roughly speaking, outside of the stupid 4080), when normally every generation offers better price to performance. Assuming next gen has any performance leap whatsoever, I just can’t see either company jacking prices up that much again. Because of that, I think next gen will once again be expensive, but with another generational leap, it won’t be quite as galling.

Built in ‘22 (mid)
11900K/3080FE but it’s Joshed up.
Thing doesn’t stutter.

Up to developers now, but given that it works on all GPUs and old ones, they'll be at 200+ games like FSR in no time. This will have a rapid adoption like freesync.

I sincerely hope the reviews for FSR3 are great. Nvidia needs competition in that arena.

Epic Games Store's 'Steam Competitor' Ambitions Are As Good As Dead
quote:
In a year of drastic job cuts in the games industry, occurring through a devastating fusion of a floundering global economy with irresponsible corporate spending, Epic Games claims the ignominious crown. The games publisher announced last week that it was laying off “around 830 employees,” representing a 16% downsizing of the company.

Epic spent over $1 billion on procuring Epic exclusives in the years 2019 and 2020. In 2020, those third-party exclusives only clawed back $265 million of that investment.
