So the reason I ask is that if it's one pin in particular, you should be fine pretty much for as long as you want. This is (what the internet says) is the pinout for your CPU:
In the top left, outlined in purple, are three pins. I believe those are the ones that were bent (note that this grid is flipped from your picture, but you can tell based on where the voids are).
The top pin on this image (bottom on your picture) is a video out pin. The middle is a main voltage power pin. The next is simply a test pin. You are definitely fine without the test pin, and depending on exactly what you're using for your display, you might be fine without the video pin, but that's a little dicey. I don't think you would boot without every power pin in contact, which would be the middle one.
But yeah, if I'm right, you're in no hurry. Just don't unseat it again, and for heaven's sake, throw away your tweezers

And to circle back around to our original problem:
Without fricking undoing anything (
), what's the thickness, in mm, of the fan on your cooler?
I assume it's 120mm across, but if not, measure that, too.
ETA: And if it's 120mm by 25mm thick, buy one of these and slap that bad boy on there: LINK

I'll be damned. I bet you the video out prong was bent that's why my monitor wouldn't turn on. My monitor has fricking VGA connection and not HDMI.
My fan is the 120mm by 25. I took off my old fan because it wouldnt work at all. At this point I'll just order a replacement to hold me over

Then yeah, drop $10 on that Arctic fan, clip it in, and you should be solid until you truly want to upgrade. And my suggestion would be in about a year, when the second gen Zen 4 processors are coming out, DDR5 has dropped in price, and there are some reasonable budget motherboards.
And wait, is your monitor plugged into the back of your motherboard and not your GPU?

I'll believe it's the GPU but I'll double check.
I'll take your advice. I appreciate all the help

Haha yeah, double check
And you're very welcome. Glad we made it out relatively unscathed. And in the future, before doing component surgery, ask best practices first

Late night update....
I think my processor is fricked. Have had computer freeze up and suddenly crash on me a couple times. Checked heat monitor and CPU running at upper 80s or 90 degree Celsius
Other areas such as GPU are fine
Eta: freezing now happening shortly after boot when even trying to open programs.
Please point me in the direction to get my upgrades going

That sucks. Maybe worth reapplying thermal paste just to see if that helps the temps.

Before we go anywhere else, do you have any fan on your heatsink at all? Something needs to be running, or it's going to overheat and shut down. Answer that and we can go from there.
Also, I'm Joshjrn #7700 on Discord, if you (or anyone else) ever has an emergency. I'm by no means a tech expert, but I know a bit more than most, and I'm happy to help.

Yeah I may go thermal paste and replacement fan before upgrading then
No fan on it at the moment. Old one wouldn't spin up any longer

That cooler isn't anywhere near big enough to passively cool a cpu. Period. Full stop. What likely happened is that you booted up from cold and it ran for a bit, overheated, then shut down. But that hunk of metal takes a while to passively cool, so when you booted back up, it was already hot, and immediately overheated.
Just leave it alone until you get a fan installed.

Don't even worry about thermal paste yet, unless you didn't...
Wait, did you ever separate the cpu, or did it stay stuck to the cooler? If it stayed stuck, it should be fine (you might have cracked the paste, but honestly, it's fine for now. We'll deal with that later). If you separated it and installed it again without using thermal paste, then yes, you will need to repaste it. Though you still need a fan, regardless

Actually, do you have any case fans you can repurpose as a cooler can until you get your new one in? Your components aren't crazy hot. You can absolutely run a zero fan build for light usage until your new fan gets there, with a case fan on the cpu cooler (assuming the ones you have fit).

Step one I'm getting a fan
No I never separated it. Its on there damn tight

Then your thermal paste is probably ok. I wouldn't exactly want to torture test it, but it's likely at least fine-adjacent. Put a damned fan on there
Posted on 12/4/22 at 8:03 pm to Joshjrn
I've got one smaller fan but it won't clip on the side of cooler. I'll just order and wait for it. Damn Amazon saying it'll take until next Sunday but whatever

Also I did this exact scenario on one of my first builds! Pulled the fan and cpu out and bent a few pins. Ended up bending them back and fixing it, but made my first build a few months later anyway
