7900 XTX is $999...50%-70% claims @ 4k faster than 6950 XT
7900 XT is $899

If the XTX matches or beats the $1200 RTX 3080 Nvidia is screwed

Also tells me why they killed the $900 4080 12 GB so quickly, it probably would have easily been beaten by a $900 7900 XT.

Makes me wonder if we see the 7800XT for only $699 down the road

I assume you mean 4080 16gb?

Again, I'm always skeptical at the numbers being pumped at these events. If this is true though, I'm not spending a dime on a CPU/Mobo upgrade and instead I'll be getting an XTX on release.

Hard to say before we have actual performance metrics. It makes me nervous how little comparative data was offered. I'm cautiously optimistic, but this was by no means the home run presentation I was hoping to see from AMD today. Guess we'll see in a month or so.

AMD did say they are NOT competing with the 4090, but pricing top card at $1000 I wouldn't expect them to.

These prices are are $100 lower than last gen which is great to see.

But they are competing for market share with the 4090, at least for the time being. Would have been very easy to throw up slides saying, to just make up numbers, that the XTX has 85% of the rasterization performance of the 4090 at only 62% of the price. I think people would have found that to be extremely compelling. But they didn't, for whatever reason.

Again, I'm cautiously optimistic. But if the goal of today's presentation was to convince people to hold off on buying an RTX card and wait for their cards to release in mid December, I'm not sure if they really accomplished that.

Posted a thread but I will post this here too.

$1,500 budget what would you buy? Box and guts only, no software or peripherals.

Always wait for numbers.

I'm still in shock at the pricing. 24GB VRAM plus 5nm efficiency and MCM at under $1K.

I think AMD knocked the socks off today.

I think for production workloads, you're absolutely right. I would be very excited if I were in the market for a production GPU this cycle. I think the jury is very much still out on gaming, though.

Imagine the 3D V Cache versions will take over for gaming similar to on the CPU side.

Don't forget these cards are NOT the RDNA3 3D V Cache models still to come.

Nvidia will be in real trouble if the XTX is remotely close to the 4090 for $600 less and how much more it offers.

Even in my wildest dreams I figured $1200 would be the lowest possibility. Feels like Christmas a bit.

More power to them. Like I said, I'm cautiously optimistic. Today just didn't move the needle a ton for me, beyond thinking "huh, maybe the XTX will punish Nvidia for being idiotic with their 4080 pricing". I'm genuinely happy for you that you're so excited about it, though

Absolutely. I think Nvidia is in some real trouble here with the pricing and efficiency gap being so large with the same raster performance.

So crazy to think a decade ago it was AMD with the space heater terribly inefficient CPUs and GPUs and now they lead the industry for both by a good margin.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 GPUs are ‘designed to scale up to 3.0 GHz’

AMD confirms the rumors all summer, 3GHz OC. Oh my.

Designed to scale up to 3.0 GHz != capable of stable operation at anywhere near 3.0 GHz. Again, I hope they deliver every ounce of that, but I'm not holding my breath

Yeah back all summer it was AIB cards touting 3GHz OC's will return.

So nice to see it all but confirmed and with large efficiency gains.

AMD will continue to be the GPU and CPU overclock champions and tweakers paradise.

The 6900XT already OC's to 3GHz, was the world's first. It's since hit 3.2GHz. You really don't know AMD eh?

You one of those retards that are all Apple products and never tried anything else?

No idea what he posted, but if it was that Xbox controllers on sale, I see no issue with it. I have an Xbox controller sitting in a drawer in my desk next to me right for when I play games on my PC that are better on controller than Kb/m
