The 4090 benchmarks are pretty damn insane.

40% improvement at 4k is incredible.
Too bad I ain't got $1600

Resist! Don't enable Nvidia.

After Nvidia's shittiness, I'm definitely holding off until AMD's November announcement. No promises on what I do beyond that point

Eh there was a bigger improvement between the 3080 and 2080.
Posted on 10/12/22 at 8:17 am to MetroAtlantaGatorFan
I was comparing top models (3090ti). The 2080ti was about 30% short of the 3090 on release.
I need to stop being lazy and sell my 2080 before it tanks even more

Toms Hardware got 71% uplift from 3090 in 4k ultra setting across 8 games
It's a pretty awesome uplift, one of the biggest I can remember. Can legitimately game in high refresh rate 4k with settings cranked in just about anything with this.
Considering how much a downgrade either 4080 card will likely be this (Only 60% of cuda cores on higher priced $1199 model) doesnt seem like too much of a ridiculous price honestly for a current flagship (cant believe I just said that about a $1,600 card

It's almost like Nvidia is intentionally pushing people to just YOLO to the 4090 with the 'better' 4080 not that far off in price and should be a way way less performer.

4090s already been sold on Ebay for $1k above MSRP.
The 3080 is still a great card for 4k 60 FPS with mostly high settings.

Ain't nobody got time for 60fps

I'm hoping that the uplift the 4090 brings will initiate a shift with monitor manufacturers to really start putting out better 4k gaming displays. I feel like the niche has been stagnant for years now.

Nvidia just unlaunched the 4080 12 GB
Ok, as much as I’m tempted to pile on, genuinely, good on them. That card was 90% of the reason I was pissed off about this launch. Shame on them for attempting it in the first place, but they regain a bit of credibility in my eyes by backing down.

I'm building another computer, grabbed a 3060TI, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor, Team Group DDR4 3600 (16*2), and normal other things. I'm pumped this should be able to run NCAA revamped.

So it looks like for gaming, the 7700X beats both Raptor Lake competitors the 13700K and 13600K.
This is gonna get a lot worse for Intel with the 3D variant(s) in January.
Intel's Raptor Lake Core i7-13700K & Core i5-13600K CPUs Disappoint In Leaked Gaming Benchmarks, Lose To AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X
Not exactly close either...

I’m not reading those charts the way you are, at all. The percentages you see written are increases from the 12700k (at least as far as I can tell), not from the 13X00k. And while the 7700x runs away when given a memory clock speed advantage, when memory speeds are the same, it basically trades blows with the 13X00k, being behind in a host of those metrics.
Unless I’m reading the charts wrong?

5800x3d at $299 on BF will be THE deal to buy if you are on previous gen AM4.

Is it expected to drop that low? I’d replace my 5600x for sure
