I'm waiting till BF to upgrade. It could be a 58003d or the newer one. That DDR5 gonna have to come down a bunch.

I'm coming from a 4770k so...

I'm still on an i5 8400 from 2017. The 12400 and 5600X are both $180 now at Microcenter.

The universe seems to be healing: AMD processors are still widely available after an entire day of going on sale.

Now we'll see if GPUs ultimately follow suit

The local Microcenter actually still has 25+ in stock of both the 7600X and 7950X. Can't buy online though.
I wonder if AMD regrets releasing the 5800X3D.

I doubt it, that came out to beta test the new technology before it's fully utilized in the 7000 series. And it worked well since they're touting 30% gaming gains over regular 7000 series.

It's a LOT cheaper though despite being damn near equal in gaming performance.

As I said, the 7000 series 3D in January is up to 30% gaming performance gains over the regular new 7000 series.

3D = large gaming gains.

The 3D versions are basically becoming gaming cpus and I think that's what AMD wants going forward.

They’re holding it back too because Intel hasn’t released the 13900K, and Intel is releasing a 13900KS next year.

Honestly right now the best value CPUs are the 5800X3D and the 12400F/5600.

It took AMD almost 2 years to release cheaper 5000 series CPUs. Intel might have the lower to mid end of the market all to them if they nail the pricing of their 13th gen

Okay that makes sense because someone told me that the 5800X3D was a limited release and AMD wouldn't do that again.

I'm waiting to see if the 13400 will have the same jump over the 12400 that it had over the 11400. Guess I'll be waiting until January though.

Intel's own slides are pretty bad, the 5800X3D beats the 13900K in several titles and tied in a couple in Intel's own chosen benches.

Can only imagine the 7000 series 3D with +30% over the regular 7000 series. Also really shows the power of 3D V Cache even in an early version that isn't full power.

Having the x3D as a tick mark instead of its own bar is extremely clever graphic design, but super fricking scummy from a corporate honesty perspective

So Intel keeps comparing the A770 to the 3060. But I'm confused because the A770 hardware-wise is much better.

I have a feeling that the 7800x3D is going to bring massive big dick gaming energy.

Yeah me too, easy decision to wait. Plus more time for prices to drop, Holiday deals etc.

Hopefully it's $400 like the 5800X3D.

5600 a way better deal at $150 at microcenter, no reason to get the 5600x for $30 more really

It's because the 770 has the same MSRP as the 3060, $329.

Which is fine as the 3060 are still kind of going for that, but the 3060 at $329 is a price that's 2 years old now. So I would hope a $329 card today would outperform a $329 card from 2 years ago

Would you get a B450 or B550 for it? The MSI Tomahawk Max is only $105 now Newegg.
