Exactly, I'm ok with paying $60 premium to not have to fight to get one right now.

My question is not about the price of the card, it's if its gonna perform like I want or do I need to wait for a 3080?

Just going to get this card and see how it does. If it's not enough, i'll use it until I can find a 3080.

It was actually $600.34, now that I look back. However mine is slightly different. EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P5-3755-KR, 8GB GDDR6, iCX3 Cooling, ARGB LED, Metal Backplate

I am not the one to ask that question, but I dont think you will notice a difference.

That is horrible value and you should definitely wait.

Show me where there's an EVGA 3070 ftw3 ultra for 499. on that site or anywhere in the world. The base price for the FTW3 ultra variant is 609.99 on their site.

That isn't what I said, I said a 3070 MSRP is $499. AIB cards are $50-100 more. You're paying over $700 for a card that is ~$599 in 2 months.

You'd have to be a frickin idiot to pay that.

You can literally find $699 3080 drops weekly.

Are you trolling us or what?

I'm paying g $60 more than I would from evga.

Debatable. Then you still have to fight bots and get lucky.

I’d gladly pay $60 premium to not have to sit around watching a stock discord all day and have it in-hand, especially if I didn’t have another GPU

It is not hard AT ALL to get a card with a little patience. Paying $730 for a 3070 when you can get a 3080 for $699 in ~2 weeks with just a little effort... Dumb as frick.

Has to be a troll.

That too. So many reasons to not grossly overpay for a lesser product just because you're impatient. But that's today's consumer sadly.

I’ve not done ryzens yet for thermal paste, 5 dot method the way to go? Any guides for how big the dots should be?

Is it different for Ryzen? I still haven't done my 6800XT yet either. I ordered new liquid metal then found mine the next day.

I've always done the pea method with Intel. Someone told me AMD recommends a pea and 4 outer smaller dots so it looks like a 5 on dice since the chip is bigger and has a different layout under the IHS. Some people swear by the cross for it though.

I'd probably go cross if it were me. I always did pea as well with my Intel.

Well I tested the cross and it works good. I’m glad I didn’t just go with it. I forgot to take the damn packing sticker off the back of the waterblock. Well I didn’t have to clean the water block at least. Doh lol

Clearly i know im overpaying for a ASUS ROG build, but im fanboying, and i got that AMD/BITCOIN $$$, and im splurging.

probably wait for 6900xt ASUS ROG version instead of ASROCK GPU.

Other than my obvious overpaying for ASUS ROG, does this look right for memory/Mobo/Power supply?

I chose the 850W Thor power supply, but there is a ASUS ROG 750W for half that price.

Looks good, are you referring to the AIO LC one?

Smart Access Memory is a game changer, makes me want to upgrade cpu seeing the gains.
