If you don't actually use it, it's not worth the money. However, if you care about metrics that are way too detailed and want it for sport tracking, get it. My 5x is awesome and has GPS maps built in without having to be tethered to my phone. I track all my rides on my watch, with my phone in the truck and they automatically upload to strava.

New egg shipping is garbage. Label printed and waiting on carrier pickup for 2 days. Or maybe I’m just spoiled by prime

I will make time today to post my favorite CES items.

This year's show had some decent future PC tech displayed.

News Alert

A few weeks back Fr Robert Ballacer's YouTube became active, again. He must have finished his security system contract with the Vatican (true story).

Nvidia dropping price of RTX 2060 to $299 now in lieu of RX 5600 XT coming out

So Nvidia's stack in the $200-$300 MSRP range now:

RTX 2060: $299
GTX 1660Ti: $279
GTX 1660 Super: $229
GTX 1660: $219

Have you seen the Intel GPU being showcased?

Funny reading dumbass "vlog/bloggers" first thoughts. They keep saying "under 75Watts!".

No shtt, the card only gets power from the board. That is the standards limit, 75w. No PCIe external power on the showcased cards.

Idk why goofy shtt like that bothers me.

Interesting article that says it's time to stop buying monitors and buy TV's instead.

People seem to think the TV vs monitor battle is about to heat up for PC gaming.

LG and Sony did announce the smallest OLED TVs to date at 48" and Samsung has the Q60 down to 43 inches.

So actually, PC gamers should just buy TVs now

quote:

Televisions like LG’s 48-inch CX-Series OLED are only the start of potential competition with traditional monitors. As television companies change their line-ups, aim for lower price points, and add gaming-centric features, the competition could only become more intense.

I expect we’ll see more sets with gamer-friendly features throughout 2020 and at CES 2021. Thank the new console generation. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will embrace adaptive sync, 120Hz refresh rates, and 8K resolution. That’s all great for PC gamers. We need better displays to support those same features.

I, for one, welcome our new television overlords.

It was always because of latency.

If latency improves, sure. Esp now that we have refresh rates of 120.

I dont play any FPS but I use a 120" screen and projector for my gaming setup (PS4/desktop) and have zero issues with lag. It's only 60hz but again, not really concerned since i dont play those types of game high refresh rater would really benefit.

Input lag on projectors have gotten really good too. budget 1080p ones can get in the teens easily now.

Next up will be a 4k projector and the ability to do 120hz at 1080p though.

Yeah I read the Samsung Q60 43" in game mode on a PC has 8ms which is solid as well.

Sounds like a nightmare.

My 32" is almost the limit. I would do 40-42", maybe.

Any larger is too much realstate to manage when gaming. Plus, I like to seat at a desk and do other things on other screens at the same time.

I can barely use my 34" ultra wide as a secondary monitor, much less my main gaming monitor
