Yeah, just update to the new platform.
The best advice.
Esp if you're on 60hz

That is crazy.

There are differences in some games. Next gen will be for sure with the 8c/16t cpu in the apu on consoles. By then the 3770k will be just as outdated.

Oh yeah, it already is in some cases. Most engines utilize 6 cores.
I love APUs.

Strix 4g refurb $325
No ones buying those at that price, especially since they're still overpriced second hand going for $100

I'd imagine those 6 cores going along with 6 logical ones next gen. It might take a few years, but 4/8 cpus are going out in pc.
Even the 7th gen will go with the dodo.

Yeah, it's been dead for ppl with the GPU power to push frames.
Reason you saw high end system on the Enthusiast line for years.

You console any?
I'm like a PS fanboy. Don't you shtt on my console.
Joking, but maybe not. I am sort of a fanboy because of PS's library.

Going with a 1660TI and i'll update the CPU, motherboard, and ram down the road.

I'll probably go ps5 next year. I'll keep my pc for RTS games and such.
That might change when the new Elder Scrolls is announced, however.

From that link, I'm reading mobile is early 2020 and desktop mid 2020

Well damn, now y'all got me all confused. A $300 card should be good enough to keep if i plan to upgrade the motherboard and CPU down the road right? So i might as well spend the $300 card that will be up-to-date for a while, rather than buying a cheaper card now then another card in the future.
You can get the $300 card, just understand it will very bottlenecked in some newer games by your 4 thread CPU, to the point you might experience some less than stellar gameplay itself despite having a mid-range (yes $300-$400 range is now "mid-range"). That's why personally I wouldn't do it.

How much of an increase would i really get out of the $100 card?
A GTX 760 2GB to RX580 8GB is a massive upgrade even for just $100 off ebay, which is why I suggested it if you're just going to stay on that platform for the foreseeable future. You could get that, game on it for a year or two then turn it around for probably $50 still until you upgrade your platform to something more modern but in the meantime enjoy a much more enjoyable gaming experience for practically nothing.

Yeah looks like it's just going be Zen 2 mobile "4000" series chips early in 2020, then Zen 3 4000 desktop chips mid-year like we got Zen 2 3000 desktop chips mid-year this year.
Man AMD went confusing AF keeping their mobile chip naming a generation ahead of what it really is compared to desktop counterpart, no idea why they did that.
