7 game average bench tests they are the exact same.

All Fire Strike tests 5700XT scores higher.

What was that test bench? It's interesting seeing techpowerup having such different FPS numbers across the same games (relatively similar spread % though).

Techpowerup tested more games, which is likely why the 2070 super ups the XT in their relative percentage.

An air cooler is good enough for 9900K at 5.0?

Not sure, I quit TPU awhile ago but someone else posted that I forget which review it's from off the top of my head.

But yeah the performance lead is fairly decent in the fire strike tests and in gaming they're even. So overall I'd say about 3% lead in power for the 5700XT over the 2070 Super.

I'm in the market for a cheap-ish video card. I'm trying to upgrade the one I bought off of Dev years ago. I was looking at the RX 580 as something that would fit my price range (~$200). Am I off base or is that a good fit?

Get a 590, I think they are the same price anymore.

Something like that one.

So apparently the 5700XT can OC like a champ with proper cooling.

Instead of waiting for AIB's to upgrade should I try my first custom GPU cooling instead? I took apart and repasted my Vega with Kyronaut so not really worried about the teardown much.

People are seeing +20% OC gains with water cooling the 5700XT, clocking steadily over 2GHz. That just sounds fun.

If I do this I would almost certainly stay on the 8700K until Zen 2+ next year.

You buying a CPU?

Linus's review is out. They are having thermal issues. They had a card shutdown on them. Cant remember how to resize pictures on here

Not sure still. Going to wait for some chipset/bios updates and let them work out some of the early kinks and then decide.

Yeah as for the 5700XT the blower cards are pretty terrible. Look to be worse than Vega which were mediocre. I posted above I may do a custom water cooler on it otherwise I would swap it next month for an AIB card.

Gaming X or Sapphire Nitro+ series will probably be the best AIB cards.

Of course, the drivers are one of the biggest problems right now for the 5700 series. Will be interesting to see some of the thermals and power draw after a few driver iterations from AMD.

It is fairly disappointing that the drivers are in this state for launch though.
