7% and 13% difference isn't remotely close to being "on-par" though.

Still waiting to see more in-depth benches like 99%, low fps, etc throughout more games

It's a 3600...you are better than this.

The idiotic 3600 comparison to 9900K?

You can't say one thing is on par with another when it's not even close to being truthful. Especially when you have the proof in your own article

The first two are only a 6.5-7.5% uplift from the 3600. The big difference is in Intel favored Far Cry 5 test.

They also said "almost" on par. So you're kind of arguing a little semantics here. 6-8% isn't a gigantic difference by any means.

Also take into account these aren't a X570 board, no telling how that might factor into things, especially with faster memory.

Microsoft could be looking to replace Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) chips in its Surface devices, according to an unconfirmed report on Petri.com.

The report suggested the software giant is likely to host an event focused on Surface in the fall where it will announce major changes to the product lineup.

Microsoft could slowly transition from Intel, with which it has a decades-old relationship, and try out AMD and an ARM chip, according to Petri.com.

Almost on par should be just about even or trade blows. 8% is a decent margin for FPS changes

They just shouldn't be comparing those models to begin with.

Truth.

Which is why I keep saying I'm going to wait until the NDA releases and can just get a big ole graph of goodness (especially seeing each sides scores after OCing)

is this worth the $300 price difference?

Trading blows would be on par, the reference is for "almost". I dont think that's out of line with a few benchmarks showing only a 6.5%-7.5% difference. Especially again when you consider the 3600 is gimped a little on the X470 board, with probably slow memory which can vastly affect performance. We're close to seeing big benchmark suites, but that stuff is pretty encouraging a $200 chip isn't really noticeably slower than a near $500 chip, even when the $200 chip is likely gimped a little on older hardware.

Question for you guys.

I just received an email from EVGA offering an upgrade program. They’re offering $100 to upgrade 780ti to a 20 series card. I have two 780ti just sitting in a box doing nothing. Does it make sense? I know it’s a huge upgrade from my 2X1080 cards. Just looking for viewpoints. I’d upgrade to a 2080ti if I do it and I’d want them to give me 2x$100 credits. TIA.

Are your 780s EVGA? You can definitely get more than $100 each on Ebay.
I have an old 960 lying around but it doesn't qualify for any discount.

I have two EVGA 780ti. I think I might have the blocks to WC them as well. Maybe. I’ve moved a couple of times. They’re the Classified edition.

Yes, I'm in love with AMD currently for things outside of gaming.
