I didn't know that Cherry MX had an exclusive deal with Corsair for their newest "silent" keys, it apparently ended and now others offer them.
Going to grab the new Ducky Shine 7 with Cherry MX silent reds.
Watched a youtube of the sound comparison and definitely a lot quieter.

How do they feel? I'm a blue and brown whore for how they feel more than they sound
But even my co worker always has to make comments about my mx brown board

I'm a browns guy too.
You use a mech keyboard at work? I would kill you.

You can see it on other forums. No one is really excited anymore. Guess that is why we are all more interested in enterprise tech now.

No clue I just ordered it, on preorder until the 24th.
I've always had reds. Whenever I first researched I always saw reds as the most popular for gaming and now that I'm so used to them there's no reason to switch.

Reds, greens and browns. Think I maybe used blues.
Reds are loud with not enough resistance. I like just a little resistance to activate. Browns are kind if that sweet spot for me.

Yeah, all depends on what you're playing too.
Reds don't have the tactile bump so I think that's why you see them for competitive gaming and what not, fast action as they call it. Mobas especially and I would imagine MMO's too.
Typists or for work you'd want that bump I would imagine. Reds are definitely loud, specifically the bottoming out sound and these new silent switches dampen that significantly.
You get about 6 db's quieter for spacebar and around 5 for the keys.

Yes understand all that. Not like it'll really make a difference. If you play competitive you just want to make sure it actuates at the slightest pressure.
Edt: A few boards back in 2011-2012 are my first mechanicsls. They all had reds until 2012 where u bought their new green.
First Ducky I tried browns and never left the browns since.

Side note, Topre switches seem to be pretty decently popular these days.
Hadn't researched keyboards in years and see them all over the place now.

I hate reds and blacks. They're way too mushy.
Greens, blues and browns are my baes

Supposedly they're similar to the old school model Ms right?

Only thing I don't like about reds is how loud it is bottoming out because there is no bump. Some people would put o-rings in but that changes the range of travel for the key.
When I'm playing an MMO or MOBA and I'm just mashing Q W E R in a fight it's loud as all hell and my friends pick it up through my mic even through Reaper ReAfir.

In these quieter switches the colored plastic slide at the heart of the switch will now be made with a double-shot injection molding process to integrate a shock absorber made from a rubbery thermoplastic elastomer. This will soften the impact and dampen the noise produced when the key stroke bottoms out or springs back to the top. The Cherry MX Silent switches will reduce or eliminate the need for O-rings and also provide the first effective way to reduce the click that can occur when a key is released.

What a pretty girl. My dog would eat those nail clips.
The SO has been working nights only for around 2 months. So my pup always liked my computer room because it is warmer, darker than the rest of the house.
Well we sleep on my little computer room sofa almost every night now. Pic is her at I think 8weeks and her now at 9months.
This is a RasPi cam I have set up for the SO to watch us sleep while at work.
This is it in the center of the pic.
Having trouble with this reproduction thing. Really feeling empty without children. Idk what we would do without this dog.

Yeah, mine ate them after a few days, and we gave up after another set. She's just got some digging genes in her and really likes to grab on to things with her paws. I just clip and grind them really well.
Have y'all explored IVF? Or surrogates?
Posted on 1/13/19 at 6:18 pm to ILikeLSUToo
We did a year of fertility and then the SO had to remove one of her right ovary.
IVF is coming this year and one of my sister's offered to be a surrogate. But she is 24 and just got married last June. We can't do that to her.

Gigabyte X79 UP4
SLI 780 tis
Corsair ax1200i

Buying it for $320. Pretty good deal right? I have 32gb of ram and a 256gb SSD I was going to throw in it. No idea what I plan on doing with it though
