HTC is supposed to be doing something VR today in about 40 minutes. Hope it isn't an Oculus Go competitor.

Looks like NVIDIA is realizing gsync isn't going to catch on, a lot of freesync monitors now supported by NVIDIA.

I thought this was pretty old news?

I think they announced more monitors today or something. Popped up on the feed I was watching for HTC.

HTC's presentation sucked. Vive Pro with eye tracking. Looks like they want to move away from Steam with Cosmos. Not sure what this thing is about, looks like a budget Vive/Rift that may work with computers and phones to run it. It's not standalone apparently.

I'm excited to see nVidia's 120hz/low response/HDR UHDTV finally come out of production. There is nothing out there with high refresh and low response @ 4K . This is a requirement for the next gen consoles. Yes PC thread but still excited.

Then again the landscape of PC gaming monitors continues to be a mess. No monitor offers everything we want. Idt any glossy non-matte 4K/HDR/120 monitors exist. Maybe some on the Korean side but nothing I can find.

AMD CES keynote stream

2 minutes away.

My final guess is top chip 4.5GHz with OC at about 4.8GHz and at least 12 cores.

It's over now.

Radeon 7 GPU's announced, launch Feb 7th at $699 with 16GB HBM2 and 2080 performance.

Not much on Ryzen 3 at all. Showed a CPU heavy game, and the die, about it. Basically just a teaser.

So their top in card competes with the 2080 for $100 less?

This doesn't sound like the vega release whatsoever

Disappointed about the CPUs... That's what I wanted to know more of

The pricing sucks, everyone expected $599 if not $499.

I'll probably still upgrade though.

'Tis true (and 16GB of HBM2 costing $300 alone)

Now we have to wait until Computex for the full Ryzen unveil end of May. Lame, I hate being patient.

I don't understand brand loyalty.

You are overpaying for the card which is middle of the road. Just like the 2080.

Isn't this new AMD card more for computing and not gaming anyhow?
Rumor that Nvidia will drop an 1160 (basically a 2060 without the ray tracing crap).

Not really, it's a cut down prosumer card (60 CU's vs 64 on the full chip) yes but still marketed for gaming with a large jump in gaming performance.

It's a good stopgap solution to offer a solid worthwhile upgrade over Vega 56/64 while the main team continues to work on Navi.

Given those numbers? You can get a Vega 64 right now for less than $400, Vega 56 for even cheaper.

I'm sure Vega 7 will have real improvements over 56/64, but for the price the 56/64 would still be a better buy in terms of price/performance if your going AMD.

Yeah there is no talking to him. He is a brand loyal fanboy who just came across PC gaming 2 yrs ago.

Ignores facts and speaks with emotion.

I already have a Vega, so upgrading to a 2080 equivalent as evidenced above is a big upgrade in performance.

Going to go ahead and upgrade when they launch!

You are not understanding.

Is it an upgrade to purchase a card at the same price of 2-3yr old performance? You are hurting yourself being loyal to a brand. Brand loyality is not a good thing as a consumer.

The 2080 just came out 4 months ago, so how exactly is an equivalent power card 2-3 year old performance?
