Isn't this new AMD card more for computing and not gaming anyhow?
Rumor that Nvidia will drop an 1160 (basically a 2060 without the ray tracing crap).

Not really, it's a cut down prosumer card (60 CU's vs 64 on the full chip) yes but still marketed for gaming with a large jump in gaming performance.
It's a good stopgap solution to offer a solid worthwhile upgrade over Vega 56/64 while the main team continues to work on Navi.

Given those numbers? You can get a Vega 64 right now for less than $400, Vega 56 for even cheaper.
I'm sure Vega 7 will have real improvements over 56/64, but for the price the 56/64 would still be a better buy in terms of price/performance if your going AMD.

Yeah there is no talking to him. He is a brand loyal fanboy who just came across PC gaming 2 yrs ago.
Ignores facts and speaks with emotion.

I already have a Vega, so upgrading to a 2080 equivalent as evidenced above is a big upgrade in performance.
Going to go ahead and upgrade when they launch!

You are not understanding.
Is it an upgrade to purchase a card at the same price of 2-3yr old performance? You are hurting yourself being loyal to a brand. Brand loyality is not a good thing as a consumer.

The 2080 just came out 4 months ago, so how exactly is an equivalent power card 2-3 year old performance?
Posted on 1/11/19 at 3:35 pm to UltimateHog
Really talking about the 1080ti etc. Apparently from what I saw the new card is just above a 2080. So a 1080Ti.

That's perfect. If I was on Nvidia I'd get a 1080ti and not a 2080 anyways.

My point
Brand loyality.
Welcome to performance we had for years.
I'm about to be unloyal to Pittsburgh. They are killing me.

You can't get new 1080ti's anymore they quit producing them. So it's 2080 or new Vega.

I was in a microcenter a few hours ago and they had plenty, but once they're gone that's it I'm sure.
It's weird how low my excitement level was in that store this time. Almost 2 years since I've upgraded anything on my pc.

It's just not fun anymore. Think the whole hobby side is burnt out with upgrading with little performance increase or real benefit.

No shtt.
I'm saying if u wasn't brand loyal you could have had that performance years ago.
Why r u so dense.

Because that has nothing to do with right now lmao. 2080 or Vega 2 or 1080ti are the same performance. 2080 is most expensive and 1080ti is the same MSRP as Vega 2.

Why are you doing your dog?
ETA lol I'm keeping the original but meant why are showing your dog?

We don't have children. So showing her off. I love the damn thing. She is a 9month Brittany from Beeline. Very proud parent here.

Jesus it does because your upgrade is not really an upgrade. Your brand loyality holds back your experience for a subpar experience at roughly the get same price.
It's not hard to figure out.
Lol
You do get I'm making fun of your "upgrade"? No? Stop being brand loyal. It makes no sense. Esp for you. You started this during AMD's shtt days and kissed the good days of AND/ATI.
It just makes no sense.

Of course it is, about 30% more performance than what I have now.

I think the PC market has become less of a niche is a decent chunk of the pricing scheme, but also we've exhausting the processing power they can put into these tiny dies
