Yep, you Intel mindshare guys are going to be quite lost in 2019 and 2020 with AMD the top dogs. Will be interesting to watch it unfold.
I don't know that this a warranted excuse outside of Intel sheeping, them fricking up 10nm for the last 2 years really has nothing to do with AMD or Ryzen or previous.
It's not like Intel say there and say you know, AMD hasn't put out a CPU in years, lets just frick up our next "generational leap" 10nm process so badly that we lose half of our revenue.

Wait are you really using gpu tests on a fricking closed alpha of one title to make a blanket statement that vega is on par with a 1080i?
fricking hell man...
fricking hell man...

No, that is what Coyote was doing. His OP about it is in that FPS thread I simply brought it here to correct instead of clogging that guys thread.

Just caught up on that thread. To prove your point about AMD cpus, you posted a hobby site poll? Yeah, that is definitely an accurate representation of the market.
And then to "prove" Intel is heading the wrong direction, you posted another poll from the same hobby site?
I'm genuinely curious if you have any basic understanding of objective data and statistics.
Eta: go ahead and downvote we all know how you operate

Correct, it is. As backed up by sales and market share.

Oh no, that is just all over the news for many many months now if you knew or read anything. Nothing to do with that there, that is all posted here. Again, just go out and read some stuff if you want to talk about it instead of chiming in saying stupid shite you know literally zero about.
Posted on 7/6/18 at 7:21 pm to UltimateHog
Look ownership of intel cpus on a fricking hobby site doesn't mean anything. Reality is there are a ton of reasons people don't upgrade cpus every generation. Mainly, it isn't remotely necessary. Omg someone has a 4th gen intel cpu. This is surely a sign Intel is dead...get that shite out of here.

The fact that you think that is what that meant or that it has anything to do with right now shows how you have no idea.
None of that is in relation to Intel's struggles.

Okay, since you never read or know anything here let me outline it for you.
There are chip sizes right? 14nm is current gen chips. Next gen, is 10nm for Intel, it was supposed to launch this year and be the next "generational leap" in technology. They fricked it up, bad. It still isn't close to ready after 2 years and multiple delays and may now never hit the market at all. This isn't 7700K to 8700K, this is a completely new chip and arch.
Now on the flip side of this, AMD is launching 7nm, yes 7nm even ahead of 10nm, later this year it is already in production. AMD will have the top chips for 2019 and 2020, and Intel has nothing to compete against them.
Now on the desktop side this isn't a crazy huge deal, it's a big deal mostly on the server/data side of things where the huge money is.
5 billion in revenue in that segment, last year Intel owned 99% of the market. AMD less than 1%. Intel just said about a month ago (posted here) at their earnings call they are hoping to keep AMD under 20% market share in that segment.
Now are you starting to understand why Intel fired their CEO a few weeks ago? Or did you miss that too?

Title of the graph is intel falling asleep at the wheel
The distribution of cpu gen ownership doesn't support that statement
Again many reasons people dont upgrade cpus every generation and to post a graph using distribution of ownership as a means to support their statement is just irresponsible. Use their development failures or mininal performance gains over the last three gens. Not how many people own a 3rd gen cpu.

I didn't make the graph, a very popular and big website did, so take that up with them.
Not really, mostly just 1 reason: Intel got complacent and stopped pushing technology so the CPU generations all blended together with little performance differences to warrant upgrading.
Even still right now it isn't really worth upgrading even a 3rd or 4th gen Intel. Fairly common.

Now we're getting somewhere. That was my point. Their statement about intel is correct. But their means to prove it was a stupid poll.
Btw I do agree that Intel has fricked themselves over the last few years. And amd is making a good push.

Yes, that is pretty much all that is being said here.
Things are not all peachy for Intel right now, they are in a rough spot for the first time in a really long time. They completely botched their next gen chip plain and simple.

Invested in AMD @ 9.00 a share, thanks for that....
but i wouldnt take a 8gb vega64 over a 11gb 1080ti... Rather just pay the 100$ difference. This is a closed alpha dude, optimization is coming.

Of course not, it's a 1080 competitor. It competes with the ti for BF because FrostBite engine runs better on AMD, just one of those few titles that do that but there are some.

Few..
Like 4 games over the last 5yrs on PC use the v3.0 engine. All I can remember are Battlefront, Battlefield, Need for Speed and FIFA.
Might be off by 1-2 games, idk.

Is it? Because it's 2018 and your big shot PC build still doesn't have adaptive sync or high refresh rate, 2 staples of the industry now.

Yep, first 1440p monitor was QNIX. Now after having a couple of high end big name monitors I realize there is a much bigger difference than you think.

No Gsync? Say it ain't so, Coyote.

No need for it. Rarely drop frames. It doesn't do much for me.
I owned the 2nd or maybe 1st gsync display when launched. No gsync display comes without that shttty anti-glare film.
Also OC the monitors to 85. I mean at 2160 wtf will 144hz do for me? You can hit over 70-80 in most games. Even with 2xTITAN Pascals underwater.
That guy is such an idoit. We have talked about this for like 3yrs.
Edt: A setup is a constant evolution. It's never finished. But we are talking about the guy who has been around for 1 cycle. He doesn't get it yet.
