Basically get a replacement from the manufacturer if the card is still under warranty

Damn. If you still have contact with that coworker, you could still easily rma. I think even evga has transferable warranties

Looking to build a new gaming PC. Doesn't need to be top of the line, just something I can play more modern games on.
The last time I built a PC was around 2004 when the AMD 64 processor and the ATI 9800 video card were a thing so I'm a bit out of the loop.
Anyone have a good link or knowledge on what parts are considered decent nowadays? (Standard RAM amounts, processor, graphics card, HD being the main things I need to look into)
Been a good decade since I was into gaming but interested in the new Far Cry game and hell I just found out diablo 3 came out in 2012 and now im dying to play it.

In a weird twist of events, a verified working gpu, 1080gtx didnt detect in either slot. Taking my gpu to put un verified working mobo.

Last time I had a PC before I built this one a little over a year ago, vCod - cod4:mw were popular.
We used roger wilco and ventrilo, and snubbed our noses at teamspeakers.
Icq and xfire were our main lines of communication, and we used mirc to find Pugs/scrims.
