They should. I never heard of different brands causing problems.

You couldn't SLI certain 970s and 980s with each other. I think it was mostly with EVGA cards though

First I've heard of that.

They should be fine if they're a dual slot instead of triple.

Who knows tho.

Yes, I have a QNIX 27" IPS right now, I could only overclock it to 90.

That ping!!!!

I love Amazon, the monitor I ordered less than 24 hours later is $110 cheaper and they are requesting the price match from the seller, if they won't do it Amazon said I can file a claim with them to get the difference. On the other side the cars are $20 more each, I didn't dispute that.

Ask yourself. Why would the number of slots a GPU's cooler occupies be a variable?

I could sort of see this happening but a vBIOS update is probably just required from the manufacturer. Say you have 2 x GTX 1080s, 1 from EVGA which is factory overclocked with custom PCB and 1 from MSI being a reference card. When enabling SLi the cards will down clock to the lesser card's clock.

I'm thinking that 1 1080ti is the sweet spot. Good luck with 2 1080's. Most games seem to turn their noses up at SLI.

SLi usage is better than ever right.

Now past 3 x SLi it doesn't scale because it is no longer officially supported.

Can you do it with the new gen, the 1080 line takes both bridges?

I am assuming my HB bridge will work with the ti cards.

BTW bench your system so we can all cry.

It is the same bridge.

My PC in back home, i'm on a project assignment right now. Really wanted to drive home and bring it back with me last weekend. Want to play all these damn AAA titles which just released.

Current gaming situation is my laptop and Nintendo Switch. Damn Pro got flooded by Harvey.

Edt: I posted benches last year around October. Let me find it.

Fiber to home?

I'm surprised with the availability of 1GBps internet in Lake Charles. Back home I pay $99 for 150/10 in Thibodaux and $59 for 400/20 in Lake Charles. But the network here in LC with Suddenlink seems unstable. A ton of downtime and very inconsistent rates.

I thought the question was if your current HB Bridge being used now on 2x1080s would work on 2x1080Tis.

Sorry.

Google it. The SLi bridge is just bigger. It is just more of the same. Direct connectors to link all cards together for a controlled latency connection.

I plan on building a solid PC this holiday season. I haven’t made the jump from a basic 1080 60Hz monitor so any upgrade from that is going to be amazing I’m sure...

Is it worth it to go 4K 60Hz or is 1440 144Hz the best option? Anyone have both? Anything else to consider for monitors?

Oh and I’ll probably grab a 1070Ti but a 1080Ti isn’t out of the question if it’s worth it.

Thanks!

He probably just means spacing issues. Not sure if it's the case now but some cheaper mobos have had only one slot between the two PCIe x 16 slots.

Verizon/Frontier FIOS. Not in Lake Charles, though. Still in Hermosa Beach. Staying out here until at least June of '18.

Looks like Nvidia's next gpu is coming next year sometime. Called Ampere.

quote:

According to Heise, NVIDIA is preparing a next generation GPU known as “Ampere” which they are planning to unveil at GTC 2018. There are currently no details available but rumors are that NVIDIA will be jumping straight from Pascal to Ampere, at least on the GeForce front. The site alleges that the Ampere family of graphics cards will succeed the GeForce 10 series cards which are based on the Pascal GPU architecture.
