Y not upgrade that midrange GPU?
Posted on 10/6/17 at 10:56 pm to LSU Coyote
I'm happy with my $399 1080 performance GPU, thanks.

You are just as dumb then.
The guy brangs about having the best but his CPU upgrades always cost just as much as his GPU. All he does is game on the computer.
Makes no sense. I wonder if he does drugs or is just burnt.

I downvoted bc he preordered a 8700k after spouting AMD for months and months. Had nothing to do with his GPU

You sound jelly.
I bet you wish you drove a first model/ 15 year old 350z that all the chicks dig.

To be fair, he usually shits on people that buy i5s over Ryzen or upper end i7s (x99) over 1800x/threadripper. He owns a 7700k already, and he'd probably agree that it's the #1 CPU to buy for gaming.
I do agree with coyote, though. Why waste your money on a new CPU when your GPU is still the bottleneck?

Wut? I've said probably a hundred times on here I'm about price/performance. So many times.

I think you're talking about yourself more but directing it at others. Pretty common.

I paid less for my 5960x, mobo, psu and RAM then you did for you new CPU and Mobo

Alright so I've narrowed my motherboard choices down to the ASRock Taichi and the Asus ROG Strix Z370-E. Both about the same prices/features. Gonna wait for some more reviews, never had ASRock before but the Taichi's are niiice.

Exactly. Could you imagine the poor bastards that paid the 1K for those things?
Posted on 10/7/17 at 9:02 pm to UltimateHog
People are still paying $600+ for it.
I bought my mine with 32gb ram, Mobo, ssd, h100i v2, gtx 660 (lol), shitty case and rm1000x for less than that

Used sure, no one would buy them new at that price now with X299 or Coffee Lake offering more performance for considerably less.
I paid less than $600 too. $380 + $194 for the mobo.
Fingers crossed I can hit 5.2GHz delidded. All of them are hitting 5GHz and quite a few can do 5.1-5.2 across all 6 cores.
