I need to figure out overclocking on this board, I'm getting low physic scores 14.5 compared to y'all at 5 ghz. Followed the guide and it doesn't really make difference on the score and I think I have all the power management stuff disabled. It's aggravating me.

Make sure it's not throttling obviously (and I'd hope not). I also added a bit to "uncore." I have it at 45. I meant to see if I can push it higher but haven't had a chance. I didn't break 16K on Physics until I hit 5.1Ghz actually. Highest I benched was with 5.2, but I'm keeping my everyday OC 5.0 so I can keep volts under 1.3.
Make sure you're running FireStrike and not FireStrike Extreme, or 3DMark11 or some other version.
Always monitor CPU/GPU clock speed, usage %, and temps while benching, however you can (OSD, second monitor, etc.) Those three data points can usually tell you a lot about what's going wrong.

This pic will drive ILike up the wall
once I get the new I/O panel I will clean up the wires some, but here is my current rig.

It just looks soo 2012.
Not home but trying to find recent pictures of the build. Think this is the most recent, although the hardware is completely different all water cooling is the same. I'll take one when i'm home Saturday. I used to take a lot of shots but sold my Canon 7D and 6D for drugs almost 3years ago.

What is the tubing, forgot what you said. Its almost like my Neoprene.

And I'm ok with it with the scores I can get out of it.

How much typically do all the water cooling parts cost, for the pump, GPU blocks (backplates too?), tubing, etc..?
Posted on 5/6/17 at 11:24 am to boXerrumble
Pump with reservoir typically $100+
Full cover GPU blocks are $130+ each
Backplates are $30+ each
CPU block $50-100
Radiators $50-$100+ depending on size
Tubing varies, but it's definitely the cheapest part of a loop besides the water itself. I get 10ft of primochill for $25.
Fittings can add up quickly, especially angled/rotary fittings, which can be $20 each.
Then the fans, which are $20+ for good quiet ones.
My loop adds up to about $1100. You can do a loop for a third of that price though if you buy a kit and stick with using a universal GPU block.

Sheesh, I will never custom loop just no desire.

You can custom loop a system for $250 counting blocks or $3000. My current loop was right around $3000 counting fans. But I have a AquaComputer RADs/RES/PUMP. The blocks are EK because love their look.
Edt: We can put you something together that is just as efficient as the expensive loops.

It's almost a permanent upgrade if set up right.

If you buy cards already with blocks and look for used deals elsewhere, you can have a really nice loop for a decent price.

Just no point my GPU is already under water and the top end Vega will be the same way and they work incredibly well. My CPU stays plenty cool delidded + AIO so again, no real point at all. Rather buy a nice new monitor if AOC would release the damn thing already.
My case sits under my desk tucked in the corner out of sight so I don't care about the visual aspect of it.

Noise reduction is the biggest perk for me. Lots of radiator surface area, gentle typhoons at constant 900-1000rpm, pump totally decoupled. Quite a bit to spend for silence, but yeah, aesthetics and whatnot.

Yep true. Forgot about the all in ones on AMD cards.
But what if AMD stops producing that pkg? Guess someone will probably pick up the combo like we have with nVidia.

I don't anymore but at the time of investment I just wanted to go all out. At less for one time. The whole build was around $8K back in 2013. I guess it still if you would buy everything brand new. I know resale wouldn't return anything because of they hold low resale value.

Yep! Esp two of those loud GPU fans spinning.

Yep and they use Gentle Typhoons so very silent.

They're not at least for this next gen, the top end Vega has leaks it will offer the same package.

Well it's not the fans but the great heat transfer from moving fluid across die at a faster rate and larger surface area to cool with the rad.
That is a great cooler from what I read from reviews. Glad AMD offers it.

Yeah I know. Just saying, maybe a few years for now.
I like, push nVidia to release a full Pascal with GP100.

Yeah I know lol I was just saying that in regards to the noise ILike was talking about. They really are solid I have no issues or complaints.

At that point yeah I'd probably do a single GPU only smaller cost effective one.
