So I've been targeting this summer for this build. So I definitely will let you guys know when Im ready to start purchasing parts.

I currently have a Asus Z170A mboard with an i5-6500 (yes I know z170 mboard with a locked cpu )

Should I potentially keep the motherboard, and get a 6700k? Or just go 7700k or Ryzen 5/7? Or wait for Skylake-X? I kinda think going Broadwell-E at this point is not worth it price-wise, with Ryzen offering a lot better prices/performance and Skylake-X around the corner.

My biggest concern is bottlenecking the GPUs, because I either would want to go with SLI 1080tis or crossfiring the new Vega, depending on the reviews.

So here is what I currently have as far as setup for my overheating issues:

PSU: Corsair RM850
GPU: MSI 750Ti
Corsair H50 liquid cooler (plugged into CPU fan and CPU OPT)
MOBO: Sabertooth 990 FX R2.0
CPU: AMD 8350

From what I can see in the BIOS (ASUS UEFI), It is set to normal system performance vs Power Save or ASUS Optimal.

the CPU fan speed ranges from 1600-1620 RPM
the CPU OPT fan speed ranges from 1470 - 1500 RPM

You mentioned that is way too low and that is should routinely run in the 4400 range. Is it possible to edit fan speeds? I don't have a controller or anything like that, so my only way to do anything would be in the BIOS.

You won't in the real world.

Only synthetic benches.

Broadwell E chips are prone to fail if overclocked.. at a much higher rate than normal. I'd recommend Ryzen 1700 as the platform will be mature by then.

Does anyone still browse OCN?

What the fckk happen to that community. Sometimes you can't find a single fact or logical point within a 500 posts thread. I want to believe it is all 8yrs posters or really good trolling.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

This ridiculous Volta talk for Q3 2017 is insane. Seems like nVidia wants SK Hynix to go on an accelerated schedule.

Seems like VEGA is really pushing them.

The Nvidia trolls at Hardocp would have you believe otherwise.

Supposed leak on Reddit today

quote:

THE LINEUP:

RX Vega "Core" - RRP: $399.99 (1070 perf or better)
RX Vega "Eclipse" - RRP: $499.99 (1080 perf or better)
RX Vega "Nova" - RRP: $599.99 (1080TI perf or better)

Please note: The RX Vega subnames were still being finalized by the boardroom at the time so they may have changed by now. I can confirm the alternative was "Dwarf" "Super" "Hyper" based on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram which the engineers were in favor of but marketing department not so much.

And now for the grand finally... DATES!

[spoiler]The Vega teaser is May 16.
The full Vega reveal is May 30 - June 3.
The official release of Vega is June 5.](/spoiler)"

It'll be interesting to see how the core and eclipse will actually compare to the 1070 and 1080 since it'll be a little more expensive

But it was the age I found sobriety. Possibly the issue.

I'll be 32 next month.

And I'm watching Hey Arnold right now, and about to switch it to Dragon Ball Z on Plex. Some background noise while I play video games. Age is just a number!

Hmm. I'll be double that on June 2 and life most certainly does not suck.
