My 1080 Tis arrive Sunday

Blocks are "pre-ordered" from Performance-PCs and will ship Monday or Tuesday.

Yeah, taking my chances and not wanting to wait any longer for an upgrade. Two more weeks of having nothing to do until I start my new job.

I'm hoping we get GP100 with this VEGA. That will only happen this summer if VEGA blows the unlocked GP102 out the water.

Let us hope it does.

I like it.

just bought a Corsair 330R for my media server, and it's a Fractal R4/R5 clone.

Wow it does. B
Still has that Corsair look.

But an R5 must have matted with 650D. That is their little kid.

Empty case is about 50 lbs.

Yeah, that's like my 900D, weighs a ton when empty. With components and water, practically need a dolly to move it around.

So I didn't even realize until just now that the 1080 Tis I ordered only have HDMI and Displayports. So now I have this damn QNIX with DVI-D, and while I could use it with a fairly cheap active adapter, none of them will let me keep it at 110Hz. So I order this $95 Accell active converter that I read in some post online that the pixel clock might go to 430/440-ish, but it's still out of spec of the converter. There are no adapters that are rated for beyond 330Mhz.

If that doesn't work, I'll be highly annoyed. Then I'll have to decide if want to buy a real 120+ HZ 1440P or a stop-gap 4K 60hz. Leaning towards the latter because it's actually cheaper, but I've been playing more fast-paced fps games lately.

Perhaps we can work out a deal where I sell you these 980s with blocks at a price that allows you to (1) get these water blocks at a fair price and (2) turn a small profit (minus price of blocks) by selling the cards with your reference coolers. Would save me some time.

You might even find one or both of my cards are better overclockers than the ones you have. Both have an EVGA SC bios, and a power target hard mod (shorting two resistors on the card using a conductive pen). Day-to-day gaming overclocks were 1540Mhz core and 1900 (+400) mem. One of them would do 1600MHz/2000 (+500) by itself, for a 3dmark run at least.

Not sure what reference 980s are selling for these days, so maybe someone can help me figure out the right price here.

We have anything similar to this SoundBlaster Sound Bar for PCs?

Looking for a smaller sound bar and sub for my PC. Anything under 31" is fine.

I know we have the Razer Leviathan out there but I don't buy Razer products.

Everything stock:

Watercooling stuff coming in later this week. Then I'll delid, add GPU blocks, and spend some time overclocking CPU and GPUs. 7700K seems to be running hot even at stock, but it could be the shitty TIM/mount job I did since it's temporary, or the fact that I haven't flushed the loop or cleaned the rads/block since fall 2013.

Who did you order from to get Ti's so quick? EVGA has been out of stock of them, my preorder isn't suppose to ship til next week.

The 7700K is very hot natured til you delid. I haven't delidded before and this chip forced my hand.

Amazon Prime. Ordered Thursday, delivered on Easter Sunday. I didn't realize they were still hard to find. I randomly decided to buy them last week, saw them at Amazon for $699. But now I see they aren't available except from a third-party seller overcharging.

Kind of surprised at that score to be honest,

Just ran a bench, my system has been at stock for a few months now,

SCORE
24 866 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080(2x) and Intel Core i7-6850K
Graphics Score 41 462
Physics Score 16 420
Combined Score 7 698

LINK

The graphics looks good, but something seems off with the Physics.

My only guess is that you still have the stock CPU cooler on there.

Grats on the new hardware, you will have be buried in no time.

I thought the physics score seemed low too after realizing it's barely higher than my OCed 4770K. I did some reboots and did more runs later, and the score went up a bit:

Your physics score will be higher than a 7700K because of the extra cores. But it really is kind of pathetic how little of a gain I get from upgrading a 3-year-old CPU.
