Yep.. which they seem to do.

The i3 could end up being a 2C/2T + hyperthreading just like a desktop i3
The i3 on mobile has always been 2C/4T. Meaning to knowledge since Sandy Bridge they have been Dual Core + Hyperthreading. Sorry I wrote the stuff at the top wrong.

i3 HQ might be an underclocked i5 HQ.
Yeah idk what you would do here, besides mirror what the U series with L3 Cache size and clock speeds. So the i3 could be a 4C w/ L3 4MB @ lower clock than i5 or just lower clocks for the i3 vs i5. Not sure.

Oh yeah, forgot about the i7 U-series having that extra cache plus a couple hundred extra MHz.
EDIT: Didn't realize the U-series i3 was also 2C/4T; pretty fricked up pricing structure for all three of those chips, and a-hole PC manufacturers not allowing you to do configurations with more RAM, bigger SSDs, etc. without jumping to the inflated i7.

I just bought this one a few months ago....
LINK
upgraded from a ben q thats about 4 years old. AMAZING the difference 144hz makes. I could of saved 75 bucks by buying Acer. But i have brand trust issues, and went with Asus
ETA: i'm an old school PC gamer myself. I have no idea what the new IPS/QHD monitors are about. I just know i wanted 144hz and 1ms response time.

I ran firestrike @ 19k with 2 1080's. 17.2k with 1 1080.

Yessir,
Had won the 2nd one @ dreamhack ATX. Didnt really need it so I sold it to someone for XMas. Just commenting that it didnt drop my firestrike score too much.

Speaking of memory, what the frick is the deal with memory prices?
The HyperX 16 GB of DDR4 I bought back in February for 64.99 from Newegg is over $90 now
What the frick happened?

I think there has been a recent spike in DDR4 chip demand. I recall reading that pretty much every smartphone maker jumped on the DDR4 bandwagon for summer/fall releases.

That's a lot of real estate to cover when gaming, I'm not sure I would want to go over 27 for gaming.

That's what I've always said too.
It's just so damn nice, those Samsung quantum dot displays are absolutely beautiful. They say the curve helps, but not sure exactly.

I don't have the desk space for that shite, unless I went to only one monitor, and those ultra-wides don't quite have the same productivity benefits as two 16:9 monitors.

I already have the first one with freesync, the second one you linked sucks esp at that price.

I have the room, and would keep one 16:9 next to it as well.
Would still use the 21:9 and 16:9 setup the same as 2 16:9's.

Did you notice a big difference from 144Hz to 165? Asus ROG makes another one that's 144Hz and 1ms response time that's 100$ cheaper
Posted on 12/21/16 at 11:20 pm to Shirley U Jhest
No, that's why I'm content with going to 100Hz on the UltraWide.
I'll never go back to 60Hz, but anything 100+ is fine.

I find anything over say 80-90 is fine. My 1440 CrossOvers OC'd to 90 and really anything after 80 I was cool with.

To me it's splitting hairs after you get over that rate, the noticeable difference is a diminishing return, imo.
Posted on 12/21/16 at 11:30 pm to LSU Coyote
Yeah, that 100Hz range that pretty much all of these WideScreens seem to have is a good spot. 144 to 165 is essentially zilch, 100 to 144 I'm not sure on but I can't imagine it being much either so I'm more than fine with 100.
