I am kicking myself for not at least dumping my tax refund into AMD at the beginning of 2016.

$1.80/share on January 20th. So crazy.

jelly
But, why'd you get another all-in-one liquid cooler after the hassles with the Swiftech? I would've just said screw it and went with the big honkin Noctua.
Or custom loop.

It wasn't very expensive so if it craps out after a year nothing much lost and it's a brand I recognize with good reviews after some research. The problems I had with Swiftech turned out to no be uncommon.

First post from the new parts, this has been a the toughest build yet for me, mostly due to my lack of knowledge. ILike would have a heart attack if he could see the inside of my case right now.
I'm pretty much done with Strix at this point, the mobo will recognize the mouse and keyboard in the bios but after you leave bios it will no longer recognize them. I worked on this for about 6 hours last night stripping down the system to the bare minimum of components, early on I got into windows randomly twice but that's it. Now it's not running my pump on my cooler which wasn't an issue at all last night. I tried every search that I could think of and can't find anything on this issue.

I would but I need the keyboard to set the bindings for that function and the damn thing won't work.

Are you using the USB 2 or 3 ports?
Try using just the USB 2 ports for the keyboard/mouse until you install windows.
For my Asus board, there was just one particular USB2.0 port in the back that would recognize my keyboard and mouse until I got Windows 10 installed.
Did you try clearing the CMOS?

Did you try clearing the CMOS?
- Cleared CMOS
- Tried different keyboard and mice
- Tried USB 3.0 and 2.0
- USB in BIOS set to Legacy
- Tried updating the BIOS
I tried it all, some guy in India told me I should get it replaced.

Usually the top right or left USB 2.0 port. Also a legacy option in bios.
I just had to deal with some similar bullshite. I had fastboot set so the bios bypasses initialization of everything but the boot drive until Windows takes over. I had advanced startup settings still enabled from when I overclocked my monitor. In the middle of the night Windows rebooted for updates, but it hangs at the advanced startup settings until you make a selection. If you don't make a selection within a minute, the computer turns off. So my PC was off this morning, and my keyboard and mouse wouldn't reinitialize to make a selection on advanced startup.
Only way I could think to fix it was to clear CMOS. Which isn't a big deal, unless you have a shitload of overclock settings that you set 2 years ago that you now have to either remember or start over.

good info that I did not know and I would be tempted to reinstall it and try some of this if it didn't stop running my cpu cooler pump. Thankfully I didn't buy from Newegg, I'm assuming that Amazon will not pull the same bullshite newegg did. The replacement will be here monday.

Just ascended fully. I had been using my laptop (2014 Lenovo y510p, i7 HQ, 950m) for gaming.
Just dropped some xmas cash on an i7 6700k, GTX 1060, 16gb DDR4 2100, Samsung 850 pro.
Just gotta get a great monitor now.
It's nice.

Next board, try MSI. I'm not brand loyal to them, but they do make good boards. ASUS isn't really anything special anymore. Pegatron stopped making their boards years ago, and now ASUS sources them from several different manufacturers. I'm not sure what ASUS makes anymore. They used to have a tight-knit ODM relationship with Pegatron, so products were more or less consistent and helped build their reputation. Now they're a rebrander. It would be like if Corsair started "making" motherboards.

Who's excited for the Assassin's Creed movie? How many animus fragments will Fassbender collect?
