Lmao
How fckking NUTTS is that graph though. Some ppl do not know to read or interrupt graphs/charts.
The card is barely 10% faster which is like 1-3feames. But those frames cost 50 bucks more. Win for RX 480.
Edt: that one is the winner!

I don't understand what breed of retard nvidia thinks its target customer base is.

HOLY shite, the fighting between nvidia and amd in here rivals the console wars.

Does anyone else open Linus videos just to thumb down?

I've owned 1 NVidia card, and installed 2 others on family PCs.
All 3 died in less than 2 years of usage, and they weren't even being pushed.
On the contrary, my ATI Radeon 9800 from 12+ years ago STILL WORKS and so do the replacement AMD cards I bought for my family's PCs.
That and NVidia's ridiculous pricing strategy, and I'll always stick to AMD for GPUs.

Ok.
What cards? GTX 480s which ran super hot?

This hasn't always been the case and there is more to it. You capitalize on your R&D while you can. I'm not defending them but this is how capitalism works, every company does it. The sad part no one bitches about AMD blowing up their GPU division by putting all R&D into Pile Driver and having that fail which then leads to a shtty GPU department 2yrs later.
As for your 3 cards which died. Please list cards and use case. IDK about this man. I've put cards through some shtt and have owned a ton of them over the years. If anything nVidia in the past had the better partners who made higher quality boards. In my experience its actually been the other way around.
Edt:
I'm trying to think if I had any card die on me before but don't think so. I thought some cards died on me before but turned out to be corrupted VBIOS. Reflashed and fixed the issue.
Have been several times where the MOBO died so it seemed like the GPU was dead. This has been pretty common for me. I've had a lot of different MOBO issues over the years, but at one point I was buying 15-20 MOBOs in a year for different builds. A lot of cheap MOBOs out there man, tons of em.

1 6600GT and 2 9800GT's
The 9800GTs were mainly used for websurfing and media streaming in PCs built for my family.
The 6600GT was used in my old gaming PC, which saw heavy usage.

The two PCs I built for my family were well taken care of and never pushed.
I really abused my gaming PC though. I had my CPU temps routinely going 90+, which technically according to Intel is still safe, but obviously you never want to have it going that high for obvious reasons.
The 6600 GT was an EVGA card and the two 9800GTs were PNYs.
Plenty of my friends favor the Nvidia brand over AMD and they have had no problems.
But when you have 3 cards die like I have, you tend to be skeptical.
EDIT: To clarify, all 3 mobos in those PCs still work perfectly to this day.

I neither hate or like either. I've had better experiences with AMD cards though and for the price/performance, I am perfectly fine with sticking with them.
I have nothing against Nvidia cards, and to be fair, I haven
't bought an Nvidia card in 6-7 years, so I can't speak to the quality of their recent product.

My old gaming PC had an old ABIT AI7 motherboard, and the two PCs built for my family both have Asus P5Q Deluxe mobos.

I had the 8800 GT. MY first real GPU.

Just a bad deal the 3 nVidia cards used/purchased all had issues. Most of the time its the partners QC/QA board or redesign outside of reference.
I think both companies have improved on that front with their partners.
EDT: What was increased on the 9800? Just clock speeds? Googling now...

I think it was just a minor refresh of the same architecture in the 8800gt, but according to this: LINK, the 9800GT was fabricated using 55nm process while the 8800gt was using the 65 nm process.

Yeah I know its the same arch. Just Saying I think the only change was higher clocks.
Posted on 7/2/16 at 2:20 pm to LSU Coyote
I actually think the clocks were the same. The core was at 600 mhz I believe. I don't remember what the memory clock was, but I think it was the same.

Okay per Wiki some 9800 GTs are 55nm while others if not most are just rebranded 8800 GTs at 65nm. WTF

One brand new Radeon x800 for a customer build years ago, immediately started smoking upon power on. Radeon 7770 a few years ago, purchased used for an HTPC build randomly died one day.
So obviously AMD is bad
lel anecdotes.

If I have one regret it's using Adobe Premier to edit footage. shite has caused me a lot of problems. Should have used power pro.

I guess I'm just stubborn about sticking with a brand that has worked for me without issues.

I need to get on welfare or disability so I can game more if I am ever going to play all of the games in my library now.
