You have a monthly data cap on home land line internet?

That shtt should be illegal.

Don't most major ISP's have caps now?

I know Comcast, Suddenlink, Cox, CenturyLink, AT&T, and Mediacom do.

It will be, soon enough. FCC is first going to unlock cable boxes, then go after Data Caps. Thats why Big Cable spends so much money on lobbyists - they see the writing on the wall.
If the FCC doesnt do away with home internet data caps, they will at least reduce the "penalty" to be in line with the current data plan. IE; if you pay $50 for a plan with a 250GB cap, Big Cable could only charge you $0.20 per GB used over the cap. Between that and net neutrality, Big Cable will have no choice but to adapt or die.

I didn't know I had one, apparently I do of 250 gb. Apparently they rarely enforce it.

Cox has a "cap" but it is not enforced. What they've done in the past is just send you an e-mail saying you might be interested in their higher tier service. When I had premier with 50mbps, the cap was 350GB and I exceeded it nearly every month. Eventually the e-mails stopped.

When Cox doubled the speeds and I was at 100mbps, the cap went up to 750GB, and I didn't go over as often. Last month I upgraded again to Ultimate (200mbps), and the cap is now 2TB.

I've gone over 1TB before, but I'd really have to try to exceed 2TB. However, 4K bluray will be on torrents soon enough, so 2TB will start to look pretty small. Games and patches are getting bigger too. Even if the cap were a petabyte, I'm still anti-cap.

I have 75Mbps which gets me a 400GB cap, have went over it for prob 8 months straight, emails state first 3 are free, then $10 per 50GB over.

Needless to say, I go over an extra $20+ per month.

It sucks dick.

So Cox charges you for a cap?

I have their 50 mbps with the 350 gb "cap" and I've gone over and never had an issue.

I don't know if I have one with Cox because I never look at the bill and I never check my Cox email address. I should check out my last few months auto drafts to see if they are the same or not.

It may vary by area, but to my knowledge, cox does not charge for overages. But the fact that a soft cap exists suggests they are or were at one point considering enforcing something.

I don't look at my cox email account, but they used to email me at my gmail account about overages.

I'm reluctant to buy multiplayer PC games these days that don't have an established following... worried about the population/longevity. But I suppose my mentality only contributes to the problem.

I'm also concerned about its enjoyability for a lone wolf who plays in 30-minute segments at inconsistent times of day.

I'm part of the problem too. It plays great on PC but there is more community on PS4.
