AMD for whatever reason got to HBM way quicker than Nvidia, I suspect it was that Samsung deal announced last year with AMD.
Well it wasn't because of early adoption in the form of real progression. nVidia from what it looks like held off for HBM2. People would have went nutts if they cut memory resources they previously had on the current gen in a year where we needed those resources.
AMD was in a different situation. They needed to early adopt to HBM to bring interest back to their GPU line. It was a must and worked out very well for us and them.

Samsung has already started making their HBM2 chips for the AMD summer lineup and AMD got priority. Nvidia is delayed because they are using Hynix HBM2 which won't be available until Q3 2016.
Yep. That is true.

Interesting, I always heard good things about the 295x2.
In the form of? I mean yeah they perform just under any 2xcards you have in CFx/SLi. What im saying is you get less performance for spending more money on dual gpu cards vs 2xgpus. The thermals are limiting on that single PCB.

Yeah I'll be grabbing the HBM2 Fury X this summer to go with my LG 4K, that's the plan at least. Hopefully the monitor releases here soon and after a few months they'll come down a bit when the new GPUs launch. If not, oh wells, I'd pay $699 right now if it was available.

Yeah that will should be an awesome upgrade. Get 2xFury X 2016s. If you want to be elite then you need to start pairing. Plus, think you will need it at 4K.
What mouse are you using right now? Just purchased a Mionix Castor but not digging it.

I really want to avoid dual cards, see at the time how well the Fury X 2016 performs at 4K and go from there.
I'm still using my original Razer Naga Hex from 2013's League of Legends Collectors Edition. Paid $70 for the collection years ago, these things sell for $200 used now and you can't find them. May sell it when I find something I like more, or may hold on to it for even longer and see if it continues to go up in value.

Also, for anyone interested, I have guest passes to Black Desert Online. It's one free week of playtime.

I can't remember where I read this or if the statement is correct; but there was an article that stated something like HBM wasn't that big of a performance bump because it allows for much better power efficiency in a smaller area but doesn't translate to better fps at higher resolutions.
Is that correct or am I way off?
Edit: I may be thinking of the new 14nm design

Yeah I have a Razer Hex from 2012-2013 also. Tried using it for D3 at launch but just settled back to my Nega for those types of games at the time.
LoL editions selling for $200!!! Is it just because of the theme or did it come with a sensor you can no longer buy?

Is there really a significant difference between 1080p gaming and 4k gaming?
I'm actually in the market for a new 1080p monitor for my new build that I just finished last night and I'm using my old 20 inch Sony analog monitor from 9 years ago

LG really does dominate the display market.
Well, AU Optronics would like a word.
I hope AMD gives me a reason to switch back to Team Red. From the looks of it, the only thing that would deter me is poor crossfire performance. That's the one area in which NVidia wins objectively.

Just because it's the LoL collectors edition.

What's the difference between the Samsung 850 Pro SSD and the 850 EVO?
Posted on 3/13/16 at 12:00 pm to fouldeliverer
PRO is faster, lasts longer, has a longer warranty, and costs more. Average user won't notice a difference between the two.

I recently got the evo, it's great.

I wonder how they're gonna price those.

Speaking of SSD. I was looking for something yesterday in a drawer and found a NIB Samsung 840 500G drive that I forgot I had. Guess I'll have to put it to use.

Big patch today for Gears of War, think I may grab it now that everything is fixed. Looks like fun and I barely got to play it back in 2006 but enjoyed it. $29.99 why not here we go..
Holy shite 52.8GB RIP data cap for this month, 400GB limit and had to redownload 38GB Just Cause 3 and the new DLC for 3GB. Nothing like using up a fourth of your cap the first day of the new billing cycle.
