So I need your awesome expertise.

I am looking to build a new PC for around $700. I know that $700 won't get me a monster, but I am trying to sell the idea of a new desktop to my wife at the same time be able to at least play games with reasonable quality.

I have read a lot of your PC part breakdown, but honestly I'm not sure if I could apply that to selecting my own shite effectively.

I already have all the peripherals and OS. Just need the tower and parts.

Can you help me? If this is too much to ask, how about some suggestions.

TIA

Is it primarily going to be for gaming? What else would you use it for?

Outside of your basic office work it would be primarily for gaming.

Also I would be sticking with a 1080 monitor, not 1440 if that helps.

If you go used, you could grab a g3258 and mobo for $125 (even less if you decide to go with a cheaper board), $45 for 8gb of ram and a 7950 for under $100.

Buy a new case for $50, 128gb SSD and 1tb HDD for $100, PSU for $40 and boom, you got yourself a nice little PC for under $500

Do you live near a micro center? If you do, you can get some crazy good deals there

Should I go in with this list and look for those part?

ETA:

Also, you are saying there are better deals in store than online?

They have unbeatable CPU/mobo deals, especially for Intel CPU/mobos.

Everything else is relatively normal priced, but occasionally they have really good open box deals.

Edit: all of their deals are in store only. I hate (yet its probably better for my wallet) that I live so far away from micro center and ikea

Go on r/pcgaming and people are complaining about graphical downgrades for the witcher. I hate people sometimes.

I have no doubt the game will look fine on PC. I will take game play over eye candy all day every day. Sometimes I think games have become spoiled brats, maybe it's the devs with grand promises they cant live up to.

Yep. That group in particular feels betrayed since it is a Pc franchise going consoles.
